  1. beautifully done. Excited to see it all lit up too Dick heppnerguy
  2. You can do it easily. It looks rather complex when finnished but intarsia is not that hard. I started my woodworking with a scroll saw, doing intarsia and only using cedar of different colors to make my projects. I actually cut my first intarsia on a band saw. So you see,,,,,you can do it too.. Give it a try. I think you will surprise yourself Dick heppnerguy
  3. Coming from a man of your talents, that is a big pat on my back. Appreciate your comments a lot Dick heppnerguy
  4. I just hope it will bring a little sparkle into their lives Dick heppnerguy
  5. Thank you Denny, I enjoy passing me passion on the family and friends in hopes they will maybe still be displaying and enjoying them after I have past on. Dick heppnerguy
  6. I hope you are right as I continue aging I am in hopes that some of my work will have some of the families that will cherish it and the projects will be a little reminder of me as they age too Dick heppnerguy
  7. search with snowman segmentation and it should pop right up Dick heppnerguy
  8. just search snowman segmentation on Steve's site and it should bring it up for you Dick heppnerguy
  9. It is a rather easy one and adding the painting makes it stand out a little more. Dick heppnerguy
  10. Funny, my wife talked about maybe painting so of these for me. She does not have any hobbies so I think I will let her paint the rest of them, if she still wants to. Where might I go to take a look at your Santa pattern as I may be interested in doing that one next year? Dick heppnerguy
  11. I am enjoying making these except for the fact it is averaging 110 degree almost all summer and still is. Makes working in the shop not too much fun right now. I don't remember seeing this pattern before this year so it surprises me that it has been around so long. Maybe it just didn't stand out to me before now or it was not of interest, not sure Dick heppnerguy
  12. I got this pattern from Steve Good's site. If you are unfamiliar with it you may want to look it up as he has several thousand patterns and they are all free. www.scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com here is the link for his sight. Dick heppnerguy
  13. You did? We must think alike. Did you paint yours also or dye them like Steve Good did on his sight? We send these also to relatives that do not otherwise receive a yearly gift from us. Thank you for the nice comment. Dick heppnerguy
  14. Thank you. Just a little added Christmas decoration that they can't get anywhere else. We send these early so they can use them for their decoration the year they receive them. Dick heppnerguy
  15. Thank you. They are a Steve Good pattern but I decided to paint them to add a little pizzazz to them. It is really hot where I live and it makes hanging in the shop a little undesirable right now so things are a little bit quieted down in there for awhile. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I started making Christmas decorations for family members a couple of years ago. We send it out early so they have a chance to add it to their decorations the same year as they get them. I pick rather simple items and I started them a little earlier this year so I would have a clear slate for regular Christmas items if someone wants to place an order with me. This year I am doing these little snowmen. I am planning on making 12 of them, so far I have finish 4 of them. Here are a couple of them so you can see what I am up to in my shop this year. Dick heppnerguy
  17. I hope you did not see my comment as being a put down as it certainly was not what I was trying to say. It's just that there are certain items that do not appeal to me much so I don't bother to spend my time cutting them. I find them amazingly sought after and I guess I push them aside and loose a few sales as a result. I just do not wish to cut them so it is my loss. Again I have to say that your work on this is shows a lot of skills on your part. I love how it came out. I am sorry I made the comment I did because I meant to express that I do not prefer to cut these myself. I also do not care much for simple cut vehicles for kids as I prefer to make one that is more like a model. Kids like them a lot and again, my choice, my loss. Dick heppnerguy
  18. Nicely done. I just can't get into these dog puzzles as they don't turn my on but they sure are popular and yours is very nicely made. I just need to be a little more open minded about things I am not very interested in as I fully understand that many, many people love them a lot. I sort of feel that way about simple wood toys too. I know it is just me. I need to relax about things like this. Keep up your great work Dick heppnerguy
  19. Kevin...I am glad see that you are still at it even though you have been having some really tough times. So happy to see you are still continuing to knock out the projects. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Thank you. I am always trying to do a little better job as I go along. Some I enjoy myself and some I wonder why I even spend them time I do in my shop. Dick heppnerguy
  21. What a nice pat on the back, coming from you. You are a remarkably talented wood worker and pattern maker and it is your skills and accomplishments that keep me from throwing in the towel. Thank you so much for all the encouragement you have given to me in the past that keeps me trying to do better. I know I will never reach the skill level of a great many of our members in The Village have, but I still am enjoying trying, partly because of how you have stood beside me and continue to encourage me. Dick heppnerguy
  22. Thank you for your fun comment. I am fairly certain that she will like it as she has a large number of my pieces and displays them all in here house and continues to ask for more. She makes my shop time worth while. Luckily she does not see all the try intarsia artists that gives me the incentive to continue to keep trying to do a little better with mine. As I get older, it is more difficult for me in my shop but I am not giving up yet. Dick heppnerguy
  23. Thank you for your nice comments on my project. I enjoyed making it too. As I get older I find my work is getting to be a little bid difficult to do and I have never been nearly as good as many other people are but I just have to try and believe in myself and continue to try to do the best I know how to do. Dick heppnerguy
  24. I am confident that she will as she continues to ask for more to add to her rather large collection she has hanging on her wall. Intarsia is her favorite decoration in her home. That makes it really worth while making them for her too. Thank you for your nice comments. I appreciate them a lot Dick heppnerguy
  25. thank you Marg. I believe she will enjoy adding it to all the other animal intarsia I have made for her. I asked her if she is getting a little bored with my projects and her reply is, "No way. I am proud to hang your gifts in a place where everyone can see and admire them. That make me feel really good too. Dick heppnerguy
