  1. And, old Roly is the only one to tell how he really feels!!!!!  No thanks all for the sympathy. Makes me feel better for sure. It was a scare, but my heart survived.
  2. By itself on the table saw. But there was a fraction of a second of in attention. It only takes a fraction of a second.
  3. I screwed up royally today. Found a frame that would work for my moose picture. I only needed to shave off a little on the width of the picture. Put it on the table saw, started shaving off a little at a time and boom! Pieces flying everywhere!!! Not sure what happen, but it happened. Luckily it was a stacked cut, so I still have one left. Actually it didn't bother me that much, I kept thinking, I get to cut that again......
  4. Just wanted to add, seems like people are having problems getting parts for the DeWalt. My suggestion is read about it and if you get a chance, order some of the most common repair parts when they are available. I ordered several parts for my Excalibur that I felt were likely to wear out the quickest, just to have them on hand.
  5. I have sprayed lacquer before and even when spraying the same lacquer over the preceding coat, have had that happen. I do not know why. Very frustrating. Hope someone here knows how to avoid it.
  6. I would not be good with all that running around and entertaining. Fact just reading your post makes me want to load the trailer and head to the Oregon coast for a few days just to sit and watch the ocean!
  7. Good for them for running such a stand up business. I have to call Ray, mine had developed a "growl" and seems to be vibrating a little.
  8. I like what it says, although it does not apply to me. Great scrolling and finishing.
  9. I think you will be happy with your choice. I definitely have decided a person needs at least two saws just for this situation.
  10. Looking good!
  11. If I had that much fear of dust, I would not scroll, I would not do woodwork, I would not go outside a bubble. Reasonable is all I can do. I guess beyond that I will have to trust that God put hair in my nose for some reason. Maybe to collect dust.
  12. I'm certainly impressed! Awesome work!
  13. Those are great.
  14. Great job on the sign. Very clean cutting.
  15. Some relaxing scrolling on a Sunday afternoon? They look nice.
  16. I'm thinking those would sell! Nice work.

    Western Frames

Those look great, Gator. Next I'm at the wood store I getting some of the cedar. I need to make a bunch of frames...
  18. I use a box fan with a filter on it as part of my dust collection. I could never figure out how to put it by my saw, out of my way at the correct height. Today it hit me. I have an old projector screen, the kind we use to use to look at family slides at home. You did these things before TV's. I got it out today, it was on it's way to Goodwell, and removed the screen. Made a hook to put on the handle on my box fan and walla, an adjustable fan holder. Works great!!
  19. Nice scrolling! My advice to us that love the spirals, would be keep practicing with the flat blades also. I have had some occasions lately where a flat blade is needed, and find I really struggle with them.
  20. looks like you stepped right up to the challenge. Beautifully done. As many times as have been through Charles' patterns I do not remember that one. I love it. Great job, as always.
  21. Really a nice bowl. I was given some oak flooring a couple years ago. I've used it in many projects.
  22. Sorry, I am late on this welcome. Glad to have you join us Gordie. Look forward to seeing more of your work and what I have seen is very nice. I'm Paul for Washington. The state.
  23. I notice Wodden Teddy Bear also sells some Mike Williams and Charles Dearing Patterns. However, WTB doesn't send then via email. Prefer to get them in files, then I can size and print at home plus you are not paying shipping. I don't know if it is any cheaper to print at home as opposed to having them copied somewhere, with the price of ink for a printer.
  24. Nicely done with a great pattern.
  25. Great pattern you created. Looks like you have fun also.
