  1. Okay, you did a great job on that but it is almost as creepie as your avatar! I've been trying to watch SOA and I just do not get it. How can that much killing, shooting, chrime, sex, violance,,, etc. go on in sweet little Charming and yet the common citizen is unaffected???! And how can so many bullets fly and no one gets hit......
  2. Welcome, glad you gave us the pleasure of meeting you. I'm Paul from the other side of the US in Washington. There is hope for your husband, I use to be a turning addict, but I started seriously scrolling about 8 months ago and I have not fired up my lathe since! I've even considered selling my lathe, but I know if I did I'd be sorry.
  3. I've used painters tape, I've used packing tape. I am settling on using no tape except to help hold stacks together if necessary.
  4. Thanks for the info. I watched the video and now I am even more impressed with your work. The detail you did in the manes, tail and the little bushes, very impressive for sure.
  5. Great job, Steve. Very, very nice.
  6. I think most of us try to compare our work to your. That is a really nice piece.
  7. Very nice. And I may go fishing this year. I'm sooooo old a license only costs me $7.50! There are a few advantages of getting old. Very nice work on that.
  8. I do not know how you do that, it is awesome. Can you recomment a book or something to learn how?
  9. That is great looking. Well done.
  10. Very nice one.
  11. Great looking piece. Ha, I tried to use a straight blade the other day to cut an ornament. It was a real struggle. The spiral blade just seem more natural to me.
  12. Very pretty!
  13. That is a nice sign. Thanks for being a good sport also.
  14. Don't let us get to to you Lorenzo. It is all in fun and you have not done anything that most of us have done at one time or another. Give it another try, we would love to see what you have to show.
  15. Darn and he is from the "Show Me State" right?? Welcome aboard. My Father-In-Law as from that part of Missouri, I totally understand!!
  16. Look real nice, Dick. I may copy your idea on the frames for some of my Native American pictures.
  17. Darn you just raising the bar. Very well done.
  18. That really looks nice. You beat me to it. I was wanting to do that next, it is a great pattern. Must make Birchbark feel good to see such fine work on his pattern.
  19. Thank you all, very much.
  20. That is pretty darn amazing.
  21. Thank you all for the kind comments. Very much appreciated.
  22. Ray, I suppect this is a hard one to answer. Simply, in my opinion depends on what feels comfortable for you. I have tried several configurations and heights and think I am finally very comfortable with what I have. I did not like the metal stand that came with my saw so I build mine using a part of an old kitchen cabinet someone discarded. I originally made it with a slanted top, as you have but have since made it level, just more comfortable for me. I do not think there is a forumla, it is trial and error. Even more so than when working on a wood lathe.
  23. This is a Charles Dearing pattern, 1/4" BB, 16" x 11". I used 3/0 FD Spiral blade. This one got pretty scary at times. But I enjoyed scrolling it.
  24. Really nice.
  25. Very nicely done!
