  1. My mother had one of those. she ironed every thing we wore including underwear. What she couldn't iron on the mangle she did on the ironing board with an iron. You did not see those mangle much even when I was a kid. I think I have read a few people on here operate their foot switch with there leg. Maybe some one will speak up.
  2. A few weeks ago, in order to finish a project I sat at the scroll saw far longer than normal. I found that my right foot really got sore after a couple days. I figured that it was from holding down the foot deadman switch for long periods of time. I know the more intricate the area I am cutting the more tense I get and the harder I pushed on the foot pedal. So after putting an on/off foot pedal on my vac, I thought why not try one for the saw. I know if I drop dead the saw will just keep running when I keel over, but, do I really care. At that point in time I doubt if I worry about leaving with the saw running and will be more concerned about where I am going....! So I got another switch to try out. I will see how it goes, for the little I have used it doesn't seem to be much different, just a little getting use to. And it looks neat on my saw. I just need a steering wheel and a gear shift now!
  3. Very different. Beautiful!
  4. Anxious to know what you ordered, Dave. I also am interested in one, but what about ear portection.. I were hearing protection now trying to say what little hearing I have left. I guess on could use the foam one I have a couple hundred of them.
  5. That was the first one I tried, that didn't work.
  6. Did not work, not valid address
  7. Sure they could be used just like pictures for coloring could be.
  8. Good one, Dick. The second picture the background of the picture makes it look like it is flying low over water!
  9. Looked at that picture and I could hear my Dad's voice in my head "YOU'LL PUT SOMEONES' EYE OUT WITH THAT, SON". I heard that a lot growing up!
  10. Hard to not like the gnomes. Those are great!
  11. I just looked a the reviews and several mentioned it was loud, that was one of the negative You could insulate a box and put it in that to reduce the sound.
  12. Get her interested in quilting. My wife has two sewing machines that together cost more than all the tools I own... He has probably more invested in material and accessories, cutters, rulers, this and that than I could spend on tools. But it keeps her from being able to complain when I buy something for my hobby.
  13. WOW! I have always received good response for Seyco, hope nothing has happened to Ray. This is not good to read! I wanted to ask Advance Machinery a question yesterday, not important so I tried to email them using the email address in their contacts section. It is addressed to Wolfgang, I know he has pasts but thought someone else would respond. All I receive is invalid email address message. I ticks me off when companies do not keep things like that current.
  14. Congratulation! Always exciting to get a new saw. I do not read a lot about the Jet saws on this forum. I hope you will keep us informed about your new one.
  15. Here is my other side of the saw. The wood hanger holds my clamp tool, the black holder is for my poker (used to increase the size of the feed hole from the back to make it easier to feed the blade through and to poke out cut out waste the doesn't fall out). The black holder came on an ink cartridge as a protector, the minute I removed it from the cartridge I knew what it was good for. Never got another one because the printer died and I never got more of those cartridges.). The wood thing with the test tube is my holder for the blade I am currently using in the saw. there is actually two of them holder side by side. I often am switching between two sizes/types of blades so I keep both stored there. Th white holder holds the alternate blade in a clamp ready to go when I want to switch. These holders are held on with double sided tape and have stayed in place for several years.
  16. Dick how soon you forget your roots! I remember seeing pictures you posted of many inches of snow in Heppner!
  17. That is a great feeder. I think the cedar is a better choice of wood for such a project. I have one I purchased maybe 10 years ago, I have had to repair it a few times but the wood has lasted that long.. This next time it will be a pattern for a rebuild, I will use cedar.
  18. Got to tell you Folk. Meeting up with members in person is worth every effort. Dick and I have met several times in the past few years, Don't know about Dick, but I enjoyed every minute of it, as I enjoy any phone conversations we have. Scollingforsanity and I have got together a few times and are going to do some more when the weather get better, we can talk for hours also. Just something awesome of meeting up with other scroller and especially if they are members of the village. Then you get to talk about the rest of you people! Actually we do because it goes like: did you see that project so and so did?, I wonder how he/she did such and such... It is just special. And I have a few that are far away the call or message me, not necessarily members here, but scrollers/woodworkers... some from other countries...Make my life so much better and enjoyable. if you get a chance arrange a get together. You will not be sorry.
  19. I purchased this kit from Rockler several years ago on one of their sales https://www.rockler.com/dust-right-flexiport-power-tool-hose-kit-12-fixed-length The hose that the kit had back then was the black/flex rubbery house you see in my picture. It is a heavy hose, possibly why they changed.. Not sorry I purchased it, I cut the hose in short pieces for things like in the picture and the fittings are good fittings. I do not know where you could just but the hose, I looked did not find it, but no matter, probably not allowed in Callie anyway.... You know what I mean.
  20. You are more modest than me,, I don't wear the cap!
  21. Dick, went from a windy, but, sonny and nice 55° yesterday, to 35+ MPH wind, snowing hard, 25°, not counting chill factor, today. Snowed most he day but not much accumulation do to the wind, It was snowing sideways. But This is February, and I know it is not uncommon for around here. I don't care, Another week I can stay in and ignore the yard work.
  22. Okay, got my new vac Tue. spent the day setting thing up. I like my set up now. All hoses to the DC for the Hegner are short, to vacuum the shop I just disconnect from the hegner, hook the vacuum hose up and vacuum the shop and the adjoining restroom. It will reach it all. I think I will find a little smaller funnel, just because it does not need to be that big.
  23. I scroll naked! That way people who know don't interrupt me when I am in the shop... Any stranger the happens to come in does no stay but a split second. Don't even try to picture it Guaranteed to give you weeks of nightmares!
  24. Seems to be more and more of the postings that you have to download the attachment to look at it. I am wondering if it is because more people are using their cell phones versas computer. I don't know. But if that is it, anyone know how to fix it. I do not, I do not even have a cell phone. Not a big deal, just add more steps for the viewer.
  25. Nice cuttings... Use to always watch the hitchcock show. Was a favorite.
