  1. I think it looks good! I sure have had difficulty with the Baltic Birch I have gotten lately, Lots of chip out and breakage that I never had before. Some say, that they are their own worst critic,,, I say, my wife is my worst critic! You know what I mean?
  2. @jerry walters AH thank you for letting me know. It has been bothering me. Thanks for the pattern. I put you name on my copy so I will remember. I look forward to seeing pictures of your emblems. I have three waiting finish, Had a heck of a time with them. Lots of chip-out in the Baltic Birch I was using.. Had to recut parts on two of them.
  3. Dave you are a master! That is beautiful! would give any CNC a run for it's money.
  4. did anyone notice the other day Steve Good had an add for them in his daily email. You looked at a sample mag, digitally, they proves they could do it and maybe it is in the works.. If they did and made the patterns downloadable, I will subscribe again.
  5. You can usually get an indication of use on the old ex's by the table top.. the paint would wear off around the blade opening. From the looks of what I can see it was not heavily used. Nice dust collection system, lamp, and maybe she will throw in that cool stool also,,,,, if it is in pristine shape, and I had money, I would go for it. You could try to talk her down a little but. maybe not. If the motor runs fine and quiet and no great vibration. why not. The only real expensive part is the motor... I think.
  6. If it was at the right price the trip wouldn't stop me. You do not see many of those around.
  7. More fitting for this old fool! Very well done!

  12. very well done plaque! I love the succulent plants. they are very ineteresting.
  13. I'm a scroller, because I am afraid all the other more complex things I have wanted to do/try may have passed me by: wooden boat building, kumiko, marquetry, carving, woodburning, Harmonica playing, Hotrod building, car restorer, pilots license, Big game hunter, explorer, sky diver, Career lifer Marine, gold miner, worlds greatest lover.... alas all passed me by, so I am a happy scroller. It is tough but someone has to do it!
  14. By the way. Attached is the pattern I used. I got it from somewhere a few years ago and my half brain keeps telling me it was from someone on this forum. If so I would love to give them just notoriety and thanks. Please let me know if any of you know who made the pattern. The patteren says "ssvminiclocknavyflyer1". Have searched for it but nothing.
  15. Ha, I am worried about it. Pretty fragile. not much holding those wings to the backer. After laying awake two nights worrying it, I think I have a solution should they break fee. If they get there in one piece, all is okay, not something that will be tossed around, If not I will have him return it, and I will try again using a thought I had at 0300 the other morning.
  16. Great cuttings!
  17. Welcome to the forum.. Marquetry is something I am very interested in. there is a Marquetry category here but not very active yet. Hope it get more.
  18. You did a great job on that one. perfect painting and colors.
  19. @scrollingforsanity I don't remember you with glasses. I am at the point of adding hearing aids. but one ear was so bad, they want me to go to an ear specialist before they recommend hearing aids. Not sure what that means.
  20. Yep we are very fortunate to have some great vendor members here. I have had super service from Denny, and also from Kevskrafts. Ordered some clock inserts in the AM, in the mail same day. He also includes a new battery incase the one that came in the insert is old.
  21. does not need fancy, look at her saw, looks like about an 18" with no front tension lever, and I am pretty sure it is single speed. Looks like it has been very well used.
  22. Took a break from what I was working on and made this little clock for my son. hope it makes it back to him in the mail. It is pretty fragile. Hope he likes it. The dark wood is Blood Wood, the wings are Canary Wood
