  1. Okay, here is my take. She does not stand. She sits on stool. Here is my proof!
  2. Love that pose, he is in charge. Great portrait!
  3. My message for Those that struggle with and do not like spiral blades is forget about them. I get the feeling they are trying to justify to someone (?) why they do not like them and I do not understand why they feel the need to. Use what works best for you and do not worry what others like and use. It is like trying to explain why you like one tool over the other. What works you you is all that is important. I use and feel there are purposes for both. If you do not like what another scroller uses than to think it is different from what I use and it may be worth a try The end results is whats important, I, frankly use what ever blade is working for me, I never think about what someone else may think. Like I bottom feed, I do not care if you and others top feed and why should I? It is about what works for me and what works for you.
  4. Yes a pretty steep angle. I think her Hegner is an old single speed. Doesn't look comfortable to me, but she knows what she is doing. That scroll saw is just her paintbrush.
  5. Did you see the article on Fiona Kingdon that is. in Steve Good's almost daily email? She is a true artist with a scroll saw.
  6. You are right in my opinion, I did not like Hegners under table dust collection. Right now I have the best set up I have ever had. And I get the most dust collected. But to do it I had to go to a smaller cigar box. The funnel setup took half the room of the older box. I tried without a box but I missed it so much I had to drag out a littler one. But I still have a Lot of air noise. So much so I wear hearing protection. I am running out of cigar boxes. I had such a nice collection. No, I rarely smoke a cigar, but I got into building cigar box guitars and kinda got carried away collecting the boxes. If you want a fun hobby get into cigar box guitars and Ukes. It is really fun, even if you don't play. I still have the first one I made, didn't use a cigarbox, didn't have one so I made the box also. I also have the last one I made which is a Uke. Last time my son was home he tuned my uke for me, and he said he wished I would go back to making them.. He plays guitar and loved to mess around with my CBG's. Just another great hobby.
  7. They do come in handy.

  10. That is funny.. Every summer when school let out, my brothers and I got a pocket watch, better be home at dinner time and a straw hat. We didn't really live in a farm well only had like two acres, but were out many miles from town and surprising how busy Dad could keep us on just two acres.
  11. Many use these, I have one and I also have a more expensive one that has glass lens and LED light. Some people are bothered by fluorescent lighting. I use both all the time, one on my saw and one attached to my work bench. I do like the glass lens a little better, sometimes the LED light seems a little too bright, depending on what I am working on. https://www.harborfreight.com/fluorescent-magnifying-lamp-60643.html?_br_psugg_q=magnifying+lamp
