  1. Well I dragged my setup out the other day, got tired of sawdust all over my paints when I got up from a session of scrolling. Forgot how nice it was. It is hooked up temporarily right now waiting on my quieter vac. I thought the funnel I put on it was too big and get in my way when changing a blade, but I don't even touch it. No more dust, top or bottom, how sweet it is. I may put a screen over the top of the funnel to catch any small pieces I may loose through the hole in the table.
  2. Looks great. Very pretty piece of wood also.
  3. You and Andy are coming this Spring, I want to get my yard in somewhat of order before visitors.. I have not picked up the branches and leaves from the last wind storm yet. We will come in the basement door and stay in the basement as we always do anyway, we will not bother Patti.
  4. Pretty darn cool! "Woman of note". that was pretty good also.
  5. Congrats. I think the longer you own it the more you will like it!
  6. Those are really cool! Great cutting great painting! Great work!
  7. That equals about a years worth of cutting for me... Great pieces.
  8. Beautiful for sure. How big is it. That is some very precission inlay. Love the whole piece.
  9. So glad to have you back with us, I have stepped away a few times and found it helpful.
  10. ExactlyI make two pattern of each emblem I am going to cut cut the rope on one pattern and the waste inside becomes my backer for the finished emblem. The second pattern I cut the rest out and then I use some other scrap to fill the cutout of the center piece. I use 1/4" or 1/8" to fill that hole... If I use 1/8" I can glue it in at the height I want.
  11. Very well cut and finished. Your "lady must be very happy!
  12. @OCtoolguy Ray meet me at the airfield next Saturday, I'll go with you, If I happen to not show up go ahead without me. My son got his nephew, our our youngest grandson a couple "jumps"/ Flights" what every you call it, in the air tower things. He really love every minute of it.
  13. My wife got this and flowers this year. My wife helped me buy a new Fein vac. I got the best of the deal this year.
  14. Good picture but I do not know the first or second movie, but I do like is acting.
  15. When I cut 1/4 up to 1/2 depending on the wood. I use FD Penguin Silver blades #1 or #2.. very easy to control clean cut and you can get them with reverse teeth also. I also like pegas skip tooth blades also, they are a little more flexable but cut good.
  16. Have your tried heat? maybe that would soften the glue enough to remove most. If this works, go to your local Habitat for Humanity store.. I know ours has lots of those doors for a few bucks apiece. I tried them for scrolling once, but they chipped real bad. Should work for backers though.
  17. very neat piece of art. Great job.
  18. Nice work.. I am also sure he will love it!
  19. My scan gives me options of type of file to save it to.
  20. Well patterns from books or mags, are never the size I want to cut. Once I have them on file I can manipulate then into what I want to cut.
  21. I have a Hegner, but have not had to work on it (yet). First thing I would do is take apart the on/off switch cover and blow it out real good.. Is it variable speed? If it is not the dirty switch thing, then I would not hesitate to call Advance Machinery and ask. They are very helpful whether you bought the saw from them or not. I do not know of any fuses in a Hegner, but I could be wrong.
  22. @Sycamore67 You got yourself a pretty tricked out Hegner there. Been trying to figure out what the thingy the arrow is pointing to in my cropped picture of it.
  23. When trying to help someone find a certain scroll saw book on Ebay, I saw the book that contains those patterns. It was really hard, but I was strong, I resisted! My name is Paul and I am a scrollsaw patternholic!
  24. Once you have them scanned, why do you save the hard copy?
  25. Great pictures... That cute cutter, does a pretty decent job.. It one knew how, I think they could do most their work with it and then move it over to Gimp for some final touches if they thought it was needed.
