  1. Brian Welcome to the village. You can use any pattern as long as it fits the size of the log. There is tons of patterns here for free, and Steve Good has a bunch more for free. There also quite a few pay sites that have something you like. Also you may want to check out pintrest. I have gotten a lot of good ideas from there.
  2. Wow. Great way to make an impact on the education of those kids. Iggy just seeing the smiles and excitement the teacher and you created is worth a million words. Hats off to you for a great job extremely well done.
  3. I like it also. There are some growing pains and a learning curve but all well worth it in the end. I am sure when I say a huge thanks to Travis is in order that I do not stand alone.
  4. I'll add my many thanks also. Places like this Village keep our hobbies alive and well.
  5. You can always check out Craigslist. I have found a few listings where they were tearing down and old house or barn. We also have a place called Construction Junction that recycles all sorts of building materials.
  6. Good looking sander. Well done. Have thought about building one many times, just don't have enough time to devote to it. Sounds like you have all the amenities too, variable speed and all. Great job and photos. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Travis, you can also route out the back of the clock face to fit the clock fixture if your equipped to do so. I would also look up Klock-it as they have a huge selection of clocks up there as well as music boxes etc. Good luck with your project and please post a photo when completed.
  8. Nice looking sander. Interested in the width and dust collection also. Thanks for sharing. Best of luck with it too.
  9. Glad to hear you pulled it out. Between the end of the month and weather threatening I'd say you darn good.
  10. took my breath away. That is just so awesome. He was a true craftsman.
  11. Lets just say a hobby that is self sufficient is a very good thing.Love what your doing
  12. A little bit of a learning curve so to speak. The updates that were done seem to be a positive so far. Patience and play a bit.
  13. Nice catch Ike. A great and exciting way to relax. Good luck with your back. Not a good place to have problems.
  14. Some really good info here. And definitely worth following up on. Thanks to all who posted.
  15. I just got my email reminder tonight and took care of it. Something I believe well worth the money paid.
  16. I use playing cards. Extremely cheap ( dollar store ) and expendable.
  17. They look great. Very nice job that I'm sure the kids will adore.
  18. Glad to hear you got your reader. I know mine has helped me a lot. Mine has never asked about tax. That is setup when you create your account. If you leave it blank, no tax.
  19. Hi Ralph I think Rockler has one for around $50. You may want to look into it. I have also seen some in crafts stores. I don't use an extra light as I have 4 T-5 lights above my saw and work bench. Good luck in your hunt.
  20. Nice looking protractor Jerry. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Frustrating is an under statement. I think all of us that sell go through this at some point. Talked to gentleman yesterday at a show about a custom order. He changed his mind 3 times just talking. I told him to write me when he decided on exactly what he wanted. He agreed and we parted company. This approach seems to help limit the frustration.
  22. The hug key chains sounds good. Different colored clay, pink for the girls, blue for the boys. I did something similar for a teacher, they were two sided though, used pink felt between the layers for the girls and blue for the boys. Was told it was a huge hit.
  23. If memory serves me correctly. This is part of the Gutenberg Project. Lots of information up there.
  24. I like the black background. This is just a personal preference. The wife would want it painted / stained. Nice work cutting it Frank
  25. I have been using E6000 for this. May have to look into this. E6000 can be messy if your not careful with it.
