Starting using mine in 08. In 2014 it seemed to be getting harder to cut. Noticed I had the blade in upside down. Turned it over and it is still going like new.

I never make mistakes when scrolling. I do make unplanned modifications to the pattern. Some of those unplanned modifications also make designer firewood.

You may not be letting the dye get dry enough before you touch it when you get it ready for the shellac. Maybe use the rubber gloves when you touch the pieces. Maybe you need to rub the pieces down with a rag to remove any residue that is there?

Keep cutting. Before the virus we did not have any guarantee of a good year or good sales for Christmas but we kept getting prepared.
And if sales are bad, you will be stocked up for later. Not cutting will give you time to concentrate on the bad times. This ain't the first bump in the road we have had.

When you enlarge the slot and tab pattern your slots will be wider than the thickness of wooden tab that is cut making the cut tab narrower than the cut slot. The width of the slot on the pattern is cut for the thickness of the wood.
I try to cut the slot slightly smaller than the pattern shows and sand or file the slot to the size of the tab.

Here are links to SSV and SSWC posts. I found them with Google - scroll sawing a cd.

Have you contacted Heritage on this? Their order blank shows a pretty good guarantee on their wood. Shows they will replace or refund is not satisfied.

I use Inkscape. Bring pattern to Inkscape. After size is what you want, select "save as" from File menu. Select file to save to. Name pattern, then from "Save as type" scroll down to "portable document format (*pdf)" and select save.

Believe the pattern was in SSWC magazine prior to July 2014. Check Post #2 at this link. https://forum.scrollsawer.com/forum/patterns/scroll-saw-design-tutorials/53492-veteran-ornaments-by-dirk-boelman

Welcome. If a picture is worth a thousand words, you just posted an 8k word introduction. Some really neat things you posted. I really like the walking stick.

Found this on the weldbond site"
Weldbond® typically has a shelf life of 5 years. If the product is starting to solidify, it can be restored by adding just a little bit of water. We advise the consumer to give the container a good shake prior to every use.
