  1. I use it quite a bit. Odor gone by next day at least. Quicker if you have good air flow over the wood. Larry
  2. Go to this link. Find the blade you are going to use and to the far right is the size of the drill bit you need. https://www.mikesworkshop.com/blades.htm Larry

Glenna, Welcome This link will take you to Gimp and Inkscape tutorials found at this site: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forum/47-village-university/
  4. Kris Dremel does have a mini saw blade attachment. Do a search for Dremel saw attachment or Dremel attachments to see various blades, etc. Larry
  5. Very good!!
  6. Same here with 50/50 or close to it. Easier to work and seems to be ready quicker. Larry
  7. Here is link to discussion on W10 I have been following some. Has some interesting reading. http://community.woodmagazine.com/t5/Off-Topic/Windows-10-how-to/td-p/432527/page/6 Larry
  8. That is a problem they are working on. You can follow results there at Off Topic > Change Avitar and also at Publisher Feedback > New Forum problem Log. (It was me that misspelled avatar in the Change Avitar post.) How about sending some of Lubbock's cool temps to down here below the Cap Rock? Larry
  9. In posting area you will find an area with directions "enter these words" or a math question. Enter the words of answer before posting reply and post will go through. Was just there to make a post and that verification was not there. Maybe it disappears after a few posts once site knows you are human and not a spam robot. That's my guess anyway. Larry
  10. Yep. Had to re-bookmark.
  11. Site is back up. Just logged in. Give this a try!!!! http://forum.scrollsawer.com/
  12. Fixing to place order. Will still be with Mike's Workshop - same service, different voice. Larry
  13. Open this link and scroll down to the red letters for an explanation. http://scrollsawer.com/2015/07/14/old-forum-is-currently-still-active/ Larry
  14. Inkscape here, also. Larry
  15. Welcome Roy. For the scroll saw - good saw, proper setup, good blades, good wood, shared experience with other scrollers, and lots and lots of practice makes for good results. Band saw - here are links to some bandsaw set up videos. http://www.finewoodworking.com/tool-guide/video/how-to-set-up-a-bandsaw.aspx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGbZqWac0jU When the blade hits the wood the stress is drawn away for me. Larry
  16. I drill with dremel tool and dremel plunge router. I tried the drill press adapter but did not care for it. Bits are still available through Mike's Workshop. I got the plunge router from Amazon 4-5 yrs ago. The only limitation with the router is how far you can reach without moving. Most of the time I place a wide board in my lap, place the wood to be drilled on that and start punching the holes with the bit barely clearing the underside. One day did forget to place backer wood in lap before drilling. Did that once only. The burning and red mark went away in a day or so. Larry
  17. I have one on my old saw. Found it at a resale shop for $2.00 (Took the money I saved and bought more blades). It has two output tubes on it. I ran one tube into the flex tube of the saw. Larry
  18. I would let the supplier know so they can check it out. If they are getting bad blades produced for them and they are not aware of them getting to their customers they cannot get the problem corrected. I do not worry if I get one or two bad ones now and them but if I get a doz or so I will let them know. I would think they would be happy to make it right. Larry
  19. Is this the one? http://www.woodworkersworkshop.com/store/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=19_W3647 Larry
  20. Here is link to the 441 with motor attached. Noticed one of these, also less motor, sold on E-Bay this March for $25.00. http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=3952 You can do a Google search on Oster Jigsaw and see lots more info. Larry
  21. Jim, When I click on the link it opens to the re-saw video. No sign in, no selecting or anything. First it opens a blank screen with heading on top then video opens. Learn to ResawTools Editor Bob Hunter goes over the basics of resawing boards with your bandsaw and how to achieve the best results. Seems a little slow but it loads.
  22. Just went to the last link that I posted twice and it opens. It is a video almost 15 minutes long. Larry
  23. Anti-sieze compound did the trick for me and several others in the scrolling world. And you do not need very much. http://www.autozone.com/miscellaneous-cleaners-and-degreasers/lube/ags-14-oz-4-g-thread-magic-anti-seize/196158_0_0/ Larry
  24. Wood Magazine puts out the Wood E-Newsletter. The one I received this morninghas scrollers in mind. Here are some links from the newsletter that could prove useful to some of us. http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-tips/techniques/skills/scroll-saw-tips/?sssdmh=dm17.800339&esrc=nwwood051415 http://www.woodmagazine.com/community/great-woodworkers/rick-hutcheson-scrollsaw-expert/?sssdmh=dm17.800339&esrc=nwwood051415 http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-tools/power/scrollsaw-expert-advice/?sssdmh=dm17.800339&esrc=nwwood051415 http://www.woodmagazine.com/woodworking-plans/bandsawing/bandsaw-resawing-guide/?sssdmh=dm17.800339&esrc=nwwood051415 http://www.woodmagazine.com/videos/v/56935836/learn-to-resaw.htm?sssdmh=dm17.800339&esrc=nwwood051415 Larry
  25. For the slightly used blades I wrap a small piece of painter's tape on them and slip them back in the plastic pouch they come in. I keep my blades in a plastic storage box divided in compartments for each type blade and keep the blades in the pouch they come in.. On top of the blades is the red pouch (now empty) that Mike sent his sample pack in. When I am cutting I place the pack of blades I am using from on top of the red pouch and close and secure the lid on the box. Secure the lid on the box?, Yes, cause when I knocked the box over and spent lots of time re-sorting the packs I learned to secure the lid. When I need new blade, open up, pick up pouch on top and get new blade. I keep a few used blades on magnet stuck to box fan next to saw. These come in handy to pull out that stubborn saw dust that sometimes wants to stay in the cut. Also good to remove small slivers or pieces that want to stay in the cut. Also great to add a dab of glue under pattern when piece wants to lift up. Also good to pull out the excess glue from cut when too much of a dab was used - I am probably the only one that uses too much of a dab though. Some times, not often, but some times I have changed to a new blade when just a little more cutting was needed to finish. This new blade still has some life in it, and when the next project will use another size or type blade, I put the painter's tape on the blade and place it back in the pouch with the new ones. Next time I need that type blade, I take out the one with the tape. Should never have more than one taped blade in pouch at any time.
