  1. Looks intriguing. Not something that I would use though. I had downloaded a pattern, years ago, for a purse that used that style of cutting slots. Never did make the purse. The slots reminds me of Steve Good's pattern of "Floppy Guy". I would use a very thin foam for the essential oils to drip into.
  2. Great work on both. It is great to see your Spunky granddaughter adapt to her new circumstances!
  3. I agree! It is such an easy thing to add to the post.
  4. Wow, If I was in the market for another one I might have considered this. Grand Forks is only a 3 hour drive away.
  5. I am now in between projects. Finished the squirrel, then did the Lady in Red and one other small quick cut. Now feeling uninspired. Can't complain about the weather keeping me out of the shop because the shop is in the basement. I do with the weather was better. We seem to have stalled for warmer temps and it seems to rain every second day. The sailboat was from a "Shutterstock" picture. I did stack cut 2. They are 5x3. Just cardboard for the backer. Frame was purchased at a thrift store.
  6. Thanks I would have to run the generator to run the saw. That would ruin the peace and quiet! I actually thought about whittling!
  7. I didn't really think about it. I haven't looked at yours before painting mine.
  8. Although it isn't fully finished, I thought I would post here. Patttern supplied by @FrankEV, thanks. 1/4 bb ply cut with #5mg blade. It is just under 6" square. Colour is acrylic paint. I will be putting a floating frame around it. That will be stained black. It will be a ckear finish, probably Tung Oil.
  9. It looks great! I wish the heat would arrive. We seem to have stalled at 20C and rain every few days.
  10. My latest Intarsia piece. Done for the PAM (project a month) in the Facebook group Just Intarisa. Kathy Wise donated the pattern. Woods used: Spanish Cedar, Rainbow poplar, Walnut, Cherry, Aspen Wenge. The eye highlight is a pencil crayon sharpened and pushed in the hole. Finish is 2 coats of Osmo Satin with a coat of Walrus Oil over top. 25 pieces.
  11. Do you have the pattern source for that? I have a great live edge slab that might work as a backer.
  12. This is the video I have used to figure out how to make floating frames. I have cut with a hand saw & miter box. I still struggle with the measurements.
  13. Marie, That is a stunning piece of artwork. I am sure it will become a treasured piece immediately. And then loved for a long time. Can you describe how you burnished the gold leaf? It sounds like an intriguing process.
  14. Nicely cut and finished.
  15. I won't add any "this is what I do" but I will say DON'T use double sided tape on small delicate cuts. I tried it on a Tree of Life. Made some great designer work!! The tape was so strong it broke off leaves as I separated the pieces.
  16. Another great project. Thanks Frank.
  17. You look great behind the wheel of your first hot rod!
  18. Thank you. I had to cut the body three times to get a decent fit. The wings slid a bit in glue-up.
  19. Thanks. I have to stop stressing over my choices of wood when they are different from what the designer suggests!
  20. This is my latest Intarsia piece. Pattern found in the issue # 54 of Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts magazine, designer Gary MacKay. Woods used Tigerwood, Maple, Canarywood, Quilted Maple, Sapelle. One generous coat of shellac. Used many #5 MG blades.

  22. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing both the finished piece and the pattern.
  23. My son-in-law has a workbench in his garage. He built a sub-floor in that area. Keeps the toes warm. My dad, lived in southern Ontario, had a storage room off the carport that he ran an old interior car warmer in. Kept the room above freezing. This is where he stored tools, paints/glued and wines.
