    Sighting of the first robin of the season. Not sure of the wood. Cut with a #1 blade. Acrylic paints. Frame is a gel stain - don't remember the colour. Complete finish with Walrus Oil. Definitely some errors, but only I know about them. You can see the progress in the Works in Progess section. @heppnerguy- this was done over a couple of weeks, just so ya know!

    I am sorry to make you feel lazy, certainly not my intention. Staying busy helps the days pass. The cutting will be slowing down now as I am getting ready to sew a big project for the boat.

    I have the same tubes as @FrankEV. I have been keeping them in a small paper bag that had handles. The bag has finally ripped so time to make a better holder.

    Shrink wrap is the only way to go on puzzles. Keeps everything together!!

    Alex Fox designed it to be done either way. The first time I did it, I did it with the border.

    Great work Don. Are you sharing the pattern? I find it interested that I hear a lot - "love gnomes" but very few of mine have sold at my events.

    I won't chime in about blades because it is very much personal choice. It looks like you have it on a piece with live edges. I would leave it with the live edge.

    Just a couple of pieces that I finally got wrapped up. Puzzles cut from reclaimed Elm. Name puzzle is plywood. The hummingbird originally had the border around it, but it fell and broke. Lost a small piece so I couldn't glue it together.

    I just used the 1/8" bbply per layer. Don't remember the blade because it was at least a year ago that I started it. Lost control on the waves.

    He didn't see the mistakes. I overcut a couple of areas. Lesson learned - don't cut 1/8" as a single layer. He just saw it sitting on the shelf, mostly completed.

    If I remember correctly, it is an Alex Fox pattern that was published in Scroll Saw magazine. I did reduce it from the original size.

    I will request the clamps for Christmas. It is too bad the ones on the DeWalt won't work on this.

    Something I finally finished. As I was cutting, mistakes were made. Hubby saw it and asked about it. When I looked, I couldn't really see the mistakes. Put a coat of shellac on it and Voila! it is done. Never discount what you have done - I was ready to throw this out!

    Ray, Thanks for all the info. I have solved the problem a different way. With encouragement from hubby, went out and upgraded. It was time anyhow. Now that I am retired, I have been spending hours per day on the saw. Purchased this yesterday. New but open box so got a deal on it. $1,000 Canadian! I feel blessed that I am in a position to be able to do that. This will now give me time to tinker with the DeWalt and not get (as)frustrated.
