  1. Of course I had to sing that while reading.
  2. I like the idea of the angle. I originally thought this was layered.
  3. I personally don't consider these "sales". A gift card to the same store isn't the same as a discount on the item.
  4. Another great job @John B
  5. Wow! That is beautiful.
  6. Ray, I copied other's work after I saw the email from Steve's post. I always am amazed that someone can get the email blog and then post a finished product the next day.
  7. Ralph, it is actually a very quick cut and only three colours for the finish!
  8. Thanks. I agree about the painting!
  9. Little far for pick up. I have three sanding tools that I would install.
  10. They don't come to my area (Winnipeg) but my sister has a pair in her backyard (Toronto).
  11. Don, that is the Osmo finish. I purchased it at Windsor Plywood. It is available at Lee Valley as well. https://osmo.ca/product/wood-wax-finish/
  12. Had a productive day yesterday. Got a few thing cut. Got this Cardinal cut, sanded and finished! Wood is Aspen, cut with #5 mg blade. Finish is Osmo for the red & black and some other poly for the feet & beak.
  13. I guess I should really drag out the airbrush I got for Christmas last year and learn how to use it properly.
  14. Thanks for that - I didn't know. Now I can go back to bed as I learned something new this morning!
  15. Now that you have done that, I should take mine apart. Not that it is making any noise. I tried putting in a "t" after talking with Ray but it never worked.
  16. The photo lies. The painting isn't the best. Should have done a third coat on the white. I was just getting impatient and I will sell it as "rustic"
  17. This is good to hear. There is a new place in Winnipeg, haven't been yet, called Urban Lumber. They take trees destin for the dump and mill them. They currently only have Elm in stock. Cost for the "shorts" is $6/bf. The shorts are 4 - 6" wide with a few at 8".
  18. Cute!!! Finally got these done. Steve Good pattern. Larger one is his small pattern at 80%. The 4 smaller ones, not sure what size. Cut with #1 blade out of MDF. Shaped using a rotary tool with sanding disc. Painted with acrylic paints and top coated with Osmo satin. Took longer than I expected/hoped.
  19. Lovely.
  20. That looks like a great option for someone like me who struggles to build projects like that. Just did a quick search for that. Found a site that shows it in Canadian $$$. Currently on sale for $517, regular $590. Not sure if that includes shipping. Sigh!!!! Might have to find someone to build me one.
  21. I don't remember a time where I haven't had Steve Good and SSV in my morning routine!! Well I guess about 15 years ago!!
  22. So cute! Well done.
  23. I guess I am late to this thread. Denny if you are in the states. For us in Canada I recommend Garnet Hall at Sawbird. https://www.sawbird.com/scroll_saw_blades.htm I have had a couple of negative transactions with Bearwood and usually discourage people for ordering there.
  24. Great job on the design and the cutting.
