  1. That is a great job of cutting with a lot of detail!
  2. That is great! Can you show the jig you used to make those great cuts? Thanks
  3. I need to get some new sand paper for my 16-32 sander. The questions are those of you who have these sanders do you buy the rolls precut or cut your own? Also were is good place to buy them?
  4. I run my finger across the blade to see which way the teeth are going before putting it in the saw. The FD UR have a dent on the top to show which way they go in.
  5. Points down & facing you. No dumb questions here lol.
  6. If I understand his problem the packing tape is coming loose from the pattern NOT the pattern from the wood (painters tape). When this happens the saw dust builds up between tape and pattern. Now for tip to stop this from happening. Make sure there isn’t any dust on paper before covering with tape. Make sure tape goes down without air bubbles. Press down smooth with hand or roller. Hope this helps.
  7. I have used FD blades sense I started scrolling and you have to feed the line into the blade at an angle to adjust for the drift. I have been using the Pegas blades and there isn’t any drift to them. Takes some getting used to changing blades. Try the Pegas blades and see how you get along.
  8. Very nice work!! Letters are the hardest things to cut and look right. Everybody knows how they are to look.
  9. I have always used a chair.
  10. “If it isn’t broke don’t fix it” is an old saying meaning if something is working for you there isn’t a need to change anything.
  11. I showed the cutting of Elvis now want to show a picture of the person I gave it to. To me giving a project to someone as a surprise is a great feeling! She is a very big Elvis fan!
  12. Got this pattern from the vault and is by Travis. I think it has to be the best pattern of Elvis I have found. Only took one hour to do just a very few frets but has enough to make a great looking picture!
  13. If I am cutting out a piece for an inlay I will keep the piece not used an use somewhere else.
  14. Wish you the best!! Makes worrying about a tool not working very small. My dad was a truck driver also so know about bad moods lol. Take care keep us posted.
  15. I spray M77 right on the tape and put pattern on without waiting any more time than it takes to pick up the paper. Press pattern down with hand and start cutting. I think the glue gets into the tape making a better bond. Also this way you don’t get glue spray on your hands. No need to wait 15 min or even seconds. Been doing it this away for 8 years no problem pattern coming off. Just my two cents worth.
  16. Agree with what others have said!!!
  17. Planed down to 1/2" and edge glued.
  18. She wants it to protect surface of stove. So think it will be ok.
  19. Was asked to make one and had to use google to see what they were. Made out of quarter sawed curly red oak. Finished with butcher block oil. 27”x20”
  20. Thanks to Russell (birchbark) for making the pattern. I was able to make the picture for a woman's son. Made out of basswood with bark frame. Using the peel & stick paper I was able to put the pattern on the wood so it looks like the animals are on dirt.
  21. Saw blades are like your fishing tackle box, you pick up a lot of choices but usually only use a couple of the same ones all the time.
  22. Goes to show that there’s no reason to be scared to try something new. God makes wood everyday. Good job.
  23. Just looks like you need more practice cutting. A mop sander will take the fuzzies off. Just have to go at it easy. When I first started I spent about as much time fixing my opps as I did cutting. Now touch up with sanding mop done. Don’t give up!! Write date on your project and compare your cutting in a few months.
  24. Jerry that goes to show you don’t have to have a $2000 saw an years experience to make a great project! Take your time & one hole at a time.
  25. Iggy I hope you like fishing-because you sure opened a HUGE can of worms with your original post! LOL
