  1. You sure are getting fancy! Nice
  2. I would use a FD UR #3
  3. You can adjust how stiff the arm is on the EX by the adjuster on the back of the arm.
  4. Thanks for posting the pattern!
  5. This is how I heat my shop in EastCentral Indiana. It was -14 out but in about 10 min I had my coat off. The space heater is on a thermostat that is hanging beside me at the saw. The big heather gets it warm then the kerosene heater keeps it warm without the noise.
  6. A fun build but the sanding took almost as long as making it. Walnut, Purple Heart & poplar with green veneer. Pattern was made by Carole R.
  7. Don’t know problem either. My EX21 I just put the blade as far back as it will go.
  8. If you over tighten the bottom clamp sometimes it will spread. Mine is 7 years old with original clamp on bottom.
  9. I got the upgraded one from Seyco 2 years ago and it still locks in place great.
  10. I like the way you framed it using the two different woods.
  11. General then bragging site
  12. In the pattern library is there a way to find a certain pattern without having to scroll through all the patterns?
  13. Have to ask, why do you have to use a spiral blade?
  14. It does look small in the picture but it is quite big. I think it holds 600 people with a second story and basement.
  15. LOL look at Iggy’s post about his update on his hawk. Talk about getting off track! 63 post an counting! People talking about everything but the hawk.
  16. I also took out the small tree and added the windows. The picture you worked off was from several years ago. So I changed small things like they are now. This will be put into a auction the church is having for a fundraiser.
  17. I asked for a pattern to be made of the church were James Dean's funeral was held. It is Fairmount Friends Church in Fairmount, Indiana. My wife helped to restore the stained glass windows (180 of them) working with a company out of Jacksonville IL. Russell (Birchbark) was able to come up with a pattern for me. He said the pictures of the church wasn't very good to make a pattern off of but I think he did a great job! In the picture the round windows look egg shaped but they are 6' D circles. The picture makes them look odd LOL. By far not my best cutting. There isn't a lot of detail but were there is it was hold your breath time. I used a FD #3 UR an FD New Spirals #3. Cut the lines first then cut with the spiral. I am not good enough to cut straight with spirals. Thanks Russell for the help!!
  18. What is he going to do with them?
  19. I like your reasoning!! Hate possums.
  20. The back knob isn’t there to adjust tension but to make saw cut more or less aggressive. I have mine adjusted to make the arm parallel to the table. You can set the amount of tension you get by adjusting the set screw were the level is. I got a beefed up lever from seyco 2 years ago an it locks in place like new. Not trying to school you but FYI
  21. I have been scrolling for about 7 years and have had one blade break while cutting. That was after I bent it and straightened it out. I have an EX 21. With the EX the tension is the same all the time. Never had one “just break “.
  22. Just wondering how you are getting along with your hawk saw? If you even still have it. Unless I missed a post you was going to try out a EX someone had also. Enquiring minds want to know. LOL
  23. Wife won’t teach you?
  24. I had thought about the options you suggested. But with the letters so big I didn’t want the roughness of the spiral cut to show. And I didn’t trust my cutting with the blade in backwards. Thanks for the comments always welcome!
  25. That is some very interesting stats you show. Big difference in your best selling dog to the next name breed dog. You are definitely in a sweet location.
