    When you do an internet search for him, there isn't much. Its like he disappeared. I would attempt more is his patterns if they were available.

    Another Jeff Zaffino pattern. It the same as the last but cropped to just the head and shoulders. I cut two 1/8" oak ply and cut with 3/0 FD spirals.

    This is a pattern that was in SSW&C magazine last year. It is a Charles Dearing pattern. I used 1/8" oak ply, stacked 2 high. Used FD spiral 3/0 and 2/0 blades. There was some warping in the ply that made cutting interesting, but once it is framed its not a problem. Finished with the usual mix of BLO and Mineral Spirits. Framed in 11X14" The copier cut off some of the detail on the left side of the pattern, but I think it looks OK. Jim

    I wanted to try one of Charles Dearing's easier patterns. Stack cut 1/4" oak ply and 1/8" BB ply. Used 3/0 FD spiral blades, finished with BLO/MS. Jim

    another trick I learned from someone else - use a propane torch. But be careful, so that you don't start your project on fire - or your shop! Once you get the knack, its actually quite easy. Jim

    Larry is right. They have their place. If you need a smooth straight line go with flat blades. If you are working on something like a picture/portrait/scene with some softer lines spirals are great. Another way to look at it, if you are doing a Charles Dearing piece, you probably need spirals. If you are doing a Steve Good pattern, use flat. Don't try to cut something like black letters or word art with spirals - you will not be happy. my two cents worth. Jim

    The pattern was for a shelf sitter, I stack cut 4pcs of 1/8" oak ply to make it a wall hanger. Jim
