Welcome to the Village Will! If you are doing fretwork I would recommend a saw capable of top feeding. That would include the DeWalt, Delta, Seyco and the Hawks. Also Woodcraft is selling the King saws which are the same as the old Excalbur saws. The old adage applies, get the best that you can afford that will do what you need. So, come on in and join the fun!

I have always said never use a product as a finish that is not designed as a finish. Mineral oil, lemon oil and orange oil do not contain drying agents, therefore never dry completely. To bring out the grain and color of the wood, I use a 50/50 mixture of boiled linseed and mineral spirits. The MS is the added drying agent. Lemon oil and orange oil are designed as cleaners and polishes not finishes. Mineral oil is used as a laxative!

The Woodcraft store in Ventura, Ca. has them on the sales floor. Even though I have never used an EX, they look excactly like the Excalibur except for the branding.. I didn't have tine to test them as I stopped in between jobs and didn't have time.

It must be dependent on ones location. I get adds for dating women in my town and for foreign women. It would not be good if my wife was standing behind my chair just looking at a project!

Hey Dan, the DeWalt 788 was designed as a top feeder, and certainly is capable of bottom feeding too. Are you looking to buy one?
