  1. Ooops! Well I'm sure nobody would miss them and it would make your scrolling a little easier into the bargain. Rob
  2. Great work as always Dave. Personally I like the red one. One thing I don't like (and I'm sure this is the pattern and not you) is the little nibs where the letter H intersects with the C and R. They seem unnecessary and detract from the flowing curve of the C and R in my opinion. That said, you cut them so accurately they don't look out of place just superfluous to me. Rob

    Stallion

Really like that and didn't notice the mistake at first. I'm sure you can find a way to fix it though, it's definitely worth saving. Rob
  4. What a lovely cutting Monti and a beautiful piece of cherry too. All three pieces are superb. Rob
  5. Beautiful piece of wood Dan and absolutely flawless cutting. First class! Rob
  6. Very nice. I mean to cut one of those sometime but have not got around to it yet. Rob

    Hello God

    Excellent work. Rob
  8. I have never made a spiral bowl but Inkscape has a spiral tool. When you draw the spiral you can click on the node at the outer edge of the spiral and drag it round in a circle to extend the spiral. Hope that makes sense and is helpful, Rob

    Old Smokey

Took me a second to spot what that was but it's great. I really don't know how you do it Randy. You must have the eyes of a hawk and a surgeons hands. Rob
  10. Don, Mineral spirits is white spirit to you and I. Rob
  11. Great display and some fabulous pieces there Jim. Rob
  12. I had to post this because I saw that Wolfgang had added it to his gallery but has not posted it in any of the forums. He has added some great intarsia worthy of posting in both the Bragging Rights and Intarsia forums. There is even one that looks vaguely familiar..... Not sure I can put my finger on it..... Paul. is that you????? Anyway, Have a look at Wolfgang's gallery. There is some great work there. Rob. P.S. Scrappile, I hope you can forgive me? P.P.S. Wolfgang. Amazing work. Blow your own trumpet!!
  13. Good recovery Monti. To help with the readability, you could try painting some of the non-letter artefacts like the deer head etc or perhaps a little glitter on those. It might make the letters stand out more. Rob
  14. Lovely piece of wood and beautifully cut. Very impressive. Rob
  15. Oh dear Monti. All I can say is been there, done that. I cut a heart with a fern inside it, dropped it on the floor and it immediately split in half. Put it behind you and move on, Rob

    Peacocks

Great cutting. I tried a peacock once but it split on me before I finished it. Congratulations on getting it done. Rob
  17. Good work Fish. I find it so hard to remember where I found some of my patterns but I recognised the chestnut cross as a pattern by Birchbark. I cut it myself in oak but I love the chestnut you used, it's a beautiful bit of timber. Rob
  18. That cream colour looks suspiciously like the colour that Axminster use in the UK although they now seem to be using cream and grey. Anyway the price seems high... £1367.38 is $1779.29 US. It will be interesting to see where this leads. I have only found the Excalibur and a Hegner clone for sale in NZ and both are not currently available. De Walt do not import the DW788 so most of the saws available are cheap rubbish. My Delta Q3 is showing it's age so I am hoping someone will import something decent over here. Rob
  19. Superb job Dick. Just superb. Rob
  20. That looks a lovely pattern Jerry and beautifully cut. Your jig is something else too. You should sell plans for it! Rob
  21. Another vote for black here. Nice cut though either way. Rob
  22. Paul, I think you can get away with that. It would be worse if the darker piece was at the top but now it looks like a horizon. I do like the effect of BLO but have sometimes found it absorbs too readily in the endgrain of fretwork and sort of bleeds into the wood causing staining around the edges of the piercing. Tung oil does not seem to do this as much but is more expensive so I mainly stick with 50/50 BLO. Beautiful cutting by the way. I cut that once in pine but must do it again in something nicer. Rob

    skeletons

Very cool. The pumpkin heads are a great idea too. Rob
  24. Oh my god I had forgotten that. Age is a terrible thing! Rob
  25. We have the tooth fairy here but I did sell one at my last craft fair. Five minutes later the customer was back dragging a French man with him. The French man turned out to be another stall holder selling handmade chocolates. Unfortunately I did not have another mouse but my wife nagged me to make him this one as a matter of urgency. I wonder why?... Anyway, they seem popular. I explain the story and point out it is a lot easier to slip your hand under your child's pillow and retrieve one of these rather than hunt down a tiny tooth without waking the child. Rob
