  3. I've had a Kobalt table saw for a couple of years and have really liked it. Just over $300.00 and it came with the base and wheels. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-10-in-Carbide-tipped-Blade-15-Amp-Portable-Table-Saw/1001072040 Jim
  4. Would there be a way of hooking up 2 lasers to the same computer via usb's. Then have 2 separate sessions of the software open at the same time? Jim
  5. Nicely done. Great job.
  6. Great cutting Kevin.
  7. All of my Fall and Winter shows have been cancelled here in Colorado.
  8. Well, it was just a thought John. But I wonder how hard it would be to cut one using plastic? That way I would need to worry about it warping.
  9. Good morning everyone, sorry to have been away for so long. But it's been to danged cold to work in the garage, so I've been working on repairing/setting up electric guitars. It had come up on a thread on a guitar site about members other hobbies. Well I said woodworking and showed off some of the stuff I've made and someone asked me if I had thought about making a pick guard on the scroll saw in Maple or Burled Walnut. I'm thinking I wood (ha ha) need a thin board 1/8" thin by about 12" x 12" thin. And if this takes off and others want wooden pick guards would I need to invest in a band saw to cut wood this thin? At first I would only want to buy the pieces at 1/8"x12"x12" or wider then 12" Thank you and I hope everyone has been staying out of trouble. Jim
  10. So sorry for your loss Sycamore67, but look on the bright side. You got a brand spanking now Hegner on it's way. Is the new one going to be the 18" or 22"? Jim
  11. Nice job Dave. I can see why you had such a great weekend. Jim
  12. Congrats, I love my Hegner 18". My Hawk and Dewalt are just collecting dust. The only one I use is my Hegner.
  13. So it's that time of the year and I have a question. My neighborhood Lowe's is offering their Christmas Tree stump cutoff's for free. So I'm wanting to get some and then cut them and use them for maybe tree decorations for next year (cut on the scroll saw). My question is when I bring them home do I A) cut them to the desired thickness and let them dry out or do I B) let them dry out first and then cut them to the desired thickness C) do I do them some other way and how thick should I cut them when I cut them? Thanks Jim
  14. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
  15. I just grabbed mine, can't wait to get started playing around with it.
  16. Awesome idea Travis. I will get mine tonight after I get home from work. Would you be open for suggestions of the types of ornaments for the next year? Thanks Jim
  17. I hear your Iggy. My first show everyone said my prices were too high. Then my next show at a different place, same pieces and prices and I couldn't keep the puzzles on the tables. And now people are asking me about dog puzzles. So I've picked up two more 4'x12" poplar board and filled them up with assorted dog puzzles. And now I have less that two weeks to get these all done. It sucks being kind of successful.
  18. It's been a busy couple of nights in the shop. This is my first time cutting the beagle pattern. I'm really liking it. Will start stocking up on other breeds of dogs also. Thanks for looking Jim
  19. Sorry, I was meaning to go to the next smallest blade. So I guess that will be a size 3. I've been stuck on size 5 for so long. lol
  20. Hello Les, I use Photoshop to edit my videos and that is doing the very basics to them. I'm not sure what other software is out there for editing video.
  21. The bad thing about having a busy craft show. Time to get stocked up for the next craft show coming up the first weekend of December. I have 40 puzzles to get cut and a few videos to get ready also. I hope I don't give out. Jim
  22. This is my first video of me scroll sawing. This is cut out on my Hegner with a FDUR5 blade. The next one I will try a size 7 blade and zoom out a little bit also. I will be displaying these on my tablet at my craft shows I go to, to show the puzzles are cut out on scroll saw. https://youtu.be/xLwIWMuGhSo I am open to suggestions on how to make the videos better. Also I did not record the audio because I had my shop vac and Wren Air Cleaner going. Thanks Jim
  23. Awesome job.
  24. An endless supply of maple wood I see there.
  25. Congrats Edward, my first show this season is the weekend before Halloween. Then I have 1 show for each of the following 3 weekends. Not really looking forward to that. Jim
