Beautiful job. I think more states are making it legal then not all the time. So far, mine hasn’t. I think we are in the quickly growing minority.

@edward I decided to try my hand at making an overlapping word art pattern with "AMAZING GRACE" "how sweet the sound" for you or anyone else who might like to try and use it. I have uploaded it in the new pattern announcements subsection found here: Please read the notes/comments I added there regarding the fact that I have not cut it myself to confirm no errors or islands. If anyone finds an issue, please let me know so I can correct.

I checked the Pattern Library here and looked in the New Pattern subsection and the Religious subsection and did not find anything there.

I'm not Frank, but it has a clamp on it to "clamp" it to a surface and mine is actually clamped onto the very back of my scroll saw tables. It does not have any vibration or jumping from the saw.

Bob, I have not actually made any purchases from Charle's site. Primarily because I don't usually do the highly detailed fretwork like his patterns. I think they are beautiful, but way too much detail for me. However, I went to his site and made a selection of a pattern to simulate attempting to buy. What it looks like it once you have made your selections, you would go back to the pulldown menu for the "patterns for sale" and go either to the "Cart" pull down or the "Checkout" pulldown and you should be able to then checkout and pay it appears. I didn't go further then where I was to put in the my billing information and then go to PayPal to enter credit card information so I cannot verify if that works. However, the way I read your post, I understood that you didn't know where to go to get to the "cart" for "checkout." Hope this helps.

I use the larger magnification. Unfortunately, my eyes aren't what they used to be.

We get a lot of those "transplants" that retire to FL then can't stand the summer heat, lack of "seasons", etc. but don't want to go back to the real cold and real long lengthy winters so instead, they move "half-way" back to our area in East TN thus "choking our roads, causing us to be waiting an hour for a table, listening to stories of how great it was up North, etc." We call them "half-backs" around these parts because they moved "half-way" back home. Course, they also like the fact that we have no state income tax too. As far as FL personally, I like to visit, but like Kevin, I would have to be a "part-timer" I think just for the heavy winter months of which we have few any way. I have a SIL who lives in Sunny Calif with Ray. She complains about a lot of it, but she stays for the weather. She comes home to visit in July and for Christmas. Primarily to remind herself why she puts up with the other stuff in Cali. Se gets the heat and humidity of summer in July and winter in December. (Though our worst part of Winter is probably more likely late Jan./Feb. - usually the coldest time.)

I couldn't agree more Frank. Like you, I used mine in Judy's classes first and loved using it and bought one to bring home. When I got a 2nd saw, I got another one for it. I've never had any distortion with this one as I have with others I have tried.

Shop time - no didn't get there - haven't in a while. Last weekend we helped move our son into his new apt in Atlanta. He graduated 2 weeks before from College and has now become a real working adult as of Tues. of this week. He is happy about that - No wait, I'm happy about that. him not so much just yet. Then I forget what happened earlier in the week that kept me out of the shop. Yesterday, I had to take my 92 year old FIL to get a chest x-ray, then got him some groceries, then had my own appt. That took most all day. Today is a new day - maybe I can get in the shop today or tomorrow if I can remember where it is and how the equipment works.

I keep looking every once in a while to try and score one of these on Craig’s List but no luck. I’m glad you were able to get one though and sounds like for a song. Kudos for you. Now, if anyone else runs across a steal of a deal on one let me know!

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your grandson and pray that your family can find comfort in the fond memories of his happiest times. You have crafted a beautiful tribute that I am sure will be treasured.

Wow, the old adage of when it rains it pours, really seems to apply to your life doesn't it. Hopefully you will see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Sorry you have gone through so much, especially on the loss of your mother. doesn't matter the age of either, its always hard to lose your parent. I hope you are healing well and can get past it all, especially the itchy poison ivy and get back to the fun of scrolling. glad you found a way to try out your new saw. Prayers for your continued healing.
