  1. They are compound cut patterns. These were in a Scroll Saw patterns and Works Magazine.
  2. My 28 year old granddaughter LOVES Harry Potter. We have read all the books, seen all the movies, even went to the bookstore openings for the newest book! Last week, she asked if I make wizard wands. Of course I do. I’ll see her tomorrow. The wood is pecan and walnut.
  3. I can even do the back of my fretwork on mine. It has an old piece of a non slip pad on it.
  4. I like them!
  5. I believe they both have to have the arm parallel to the table.
  6. Maybe one of the “Church Ladies” will help.
  7. My tree was designed by Sue Mey this year. The blue ornament is from our first Christmas together. 49 years ago.
  8. You have a lot of stuff! That looks great!
  9. The pattern was from Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts Magazine. I’m looking for the issue number
  10. Turtle box pictures. Successful and slightly not successful. Worse lids have been trashed.
  11. I have an order for a turtle box. I also need an extra one to sell. The lid requires a 15 piece inlay. The Excalibur will cut 1, maybe 2, and then the third is off, just a bit. I can’t figure out why. I have to do it on the Dewalt. I am just checking options. There are 2 used saws near me, one Hawk, one Hegner. I do not understand how it can be user error when the Dewalt can do it. To say I am frustrated is putting it mildly. Thanks for the information.
  12. Did that. Added a second one! Still moves.
  13. I would like to know what the difference is between the 2 saws. Please
  14. I do. I have the Taiwan machine, Pegas clamps. Redo the clamp inserts, dress ends etc. The tension does not maintain. I love the no vibration. I love the table tilt mechanism. The size of the table etc. I also do not have to fiddle with the extra bottom clamp thing.
  15. I have a Love/Hate relationship with mine. Did you be sure to check that the arm is parallel with the table? When I put the blade in the top clamp I bend it a little so it is not tight from top to bottom, too much tension pops the blade out of the clamp. I DO know this information is not the acceptable way. I also know that it’s the only way I can make it work. Yes, it’s a good one from Taiwan.
  16. I still price my work to sell for a fair (to me) price. I can take it home, I don’t mind. I enjoy doing the craft shows. It’s fun. If someone doesn’t want to pay for it, that’s ok! I’ll still have it next time.
  17. I bought the Seyco Scrollers drill. Easy to use. Even for the smallest drill bits.
  18. Welcome!
  19. I have started to do a few craft shows. For fun, a way to remove some projects from my walls, shelves, etc. Small boxes, and bowls sell. Market place shoppers around here are looking for flea market junk.
  20. SE North Carolina here! Get the Hegner if you can. Try it first, it is a much better saw. It takes standard pinless scroll saw blades.
  21. We bought ours 14 years ago. We are on a rural, small, curvy, highway. One acre, double wide with two garages, a single and a half and an extra large double. 3 bed, two bath home. Our first master bath! It’s not mobile, be fancy, it’s MODULAR!
  22. I’m going to look for those! We have the same, double wide.
  23. I have cut sandpaper strips to fit inside cuts for some smoothing, use a utility knife, with the back side of the paper up. It can help I did NOT read completely through all the comments, I just scanned. Quick question, what type of blades are you using? Flat or spiral? Spiral will not give a smooth finish. Less than smooth curves or not straight lines? You need to practice cutting. I just had to throw out a complex piece because my curves were so bad, and I stack cut. With a reverse tooth blade.
  24. I’ve done it. Use a sharp, wide chisel. It will work fine. There is nothing wrong with trying different things. Sometimes it’s fun.
  25. Cutting board oil can be made with a mix of mineral oil and beeswax. Mostly mineral oil. Warmed enough to melt the beeswax.
