  1. I get mine from lljohnsons Workbench in Charlotte MI. I could go to South Bend IN same distance either way but a nicer drive to Charlotte. The Baltic Birch is: 1/8" $9.11, 1/4" $15.95 and they cut the 5x5 plywood down for me. It is a 90 mile drive either way. So when I go my list is long because I get band saw blades, stain, finish exotic wood, and domestic hardwood.
  2. I used to have an endless supply when my daughter's friends dad worked for a display company. I use to get a truck everytime I ran out at the school shop. I retired and he has retired so no more plastic sheets. I still have a few pieces but the supply is running out.
  3. I will be ordering blades and I will tell my friends at the woodworking club about you so they get their supplies.
  4. Glad to know you are a pegas dealer. I will start using you as my supplier, you won't get rich off my orders because they will be small and infrequent. Good luck on your endeavor I am looking forward to working with you.
  5. Same here Jim. I enjoy everyday because it's a Saturday.
  6. I think working that much overtime a week would be tiring.
  7. Excellent idea for cutting boards!
  8. Congratulations to those of you that do shows and online sales. I am glad that woodworking is just a hobby for me. I occasionally make things for charity silent auctions and friends so l admire you guys for your ambition. I might have to start selling my things my wife says their is no more shelf space for the boxes or bowls that I make. I told her I will just make more display shelf space. She didn't like that idea.
  9. I know two excellent scrollsaw artists that I see regularly. Both belong to my three different woodworking clubs. Neither belong to this forum. One was a student of mine in woodworking class 44 yrs ago and the other a friend through the woodworking club. Believe me my former student did not become a good scrollsaw artist because of my class. I had two powermatic scroll saws with 1/4" blades they were doing good to cut curves on shelf brackets which was a required project.
  10. A little off topic but I paid a friend $40 for a compound ornament made of holly today. She gave me a discount of $5 which I thought was good because I know how hard she works on them. The best thing I didn't have to make it because compound ornaments give me problems. Now my wife will be happy, she thought they looked great when she saw them at the woodworking club Christmas diner last week.
  11. Happy thanksgiving, my daughter and grandkids are up from Tennessee for the week.
  12. Too many insurance companies frown on wood stoves. They won't insure your shop with a wood burning stove.
Great patterns and I will be using a few.
  13. It sounds like it is going to an awesome year for those of you who do craft shows. I don't even do craft shows but I am busy doing cheese cutters and matching cutting boards and aggravation games for friends and family. I don't want this to be a job fun of working in shop messing around is my goal. I guess I started something that snowballed on me by making the cheese cutters and matching cutting boards for wedding gifts.
  14. Great suggestions, but for me the best and cheapest method to heat my shop was a natural gas bigmaxx furnace. It was easy to install and my son in law ran the gas for a case of beverage. The apartment above the shop is electric heat and it cost more to heat than the shop. I am glad the apartment is only used by relatives, or my older kids when they visit. I am going to covert it gas next year.
  15. I have one that is the old design and it works great. The new design is even better because they fixed some things to make it better.
  16. It's awesome that you and your husband work together on the craft shows. I hope it's not a contest to see who makes the most money.
  17. I have 50,000btu natural gas bigmaxx heater hanging from my ceiling and it maintains 68 degrees 24/7 in the winter at little cost. Kevin I hope you have the same luck as me on cost.
  18. Denny I think you shipped that to the wrong address. Richard have fun using your new saw.
  19. You can't keep it looking new if you use it. When my tablesaw was new maybe I had it two weeks my neighbor set a pop can on the table and I have a ring stain that's seven years old. I remind him every now and then about it. I just have not been able to return the favor yet. He hasn't bought any new equipment. Awesome looking saw I hope you enjoy it and make a ton of projects.
  20. Awesome sales! Just don't over do it and set back your recovery.
  21. Good results, sounds like the next show will be a great chance to make more money.
  22. Heater repair today I usually have to do this once a year. Cleaned out the hole for the vacuum switch and cleaned the carbon off the heat sensor. It is now backup and running 68 degrees inside 43 outside.
  23. Sounds might be a hold over from Halloween (LOL).
  24. Awesome display! You have been way too busy.
