  1. Try Sears parts direct they might have it
  2. Merry Christmas to all on the village
  3. If I remember right there was almost 1400 holes drilled. I kept track of the number of holes I drilled on the last one I made.
  4. Very nice piece. Well done
  5. Thank you all. This is the fifth one of these I have made. One I made about 10 years ago I donated to a charity auction and it brought over 300 dollars. The rest have been given to family members.
  6. The first picture is the Cutoffs from other projects and the second picture is what I made from them. Lots of glueing boards together and resawing on bandsaw. Took about a month to make it out of red oak and I didn’t use them all.
  7. I don’t think it is slippage because when I start cutting with a new blade the tension lever on my Hawk is stiff likes it’s supposed to be. The longer I cut the easier it is to flip over and you can tell while you’re cutting that the tension is less. I don’t have that problem with the Pegas blades. I’m going to use up the Eberle blades and I probably won’t buy anymore and stick with Pegas.
  8. That must be where I got them. I used to buy a lot of stuff from them. Ray I think they are stretching because after I saw for awhile the tension gets looser on the Eberle blades but when I use the Pegas blades the tension stays pretty much the same.
  9. I use mostly #2 blades on quarter inch wood. I have Eberle blades and Pegas blades. I don’t remember where I bought the Eberle blades cause I’ve had them for quite awhile. The Eberle blades start out sharp but they don’t last very long and they seem to stretch more than the Pegas. The Pegas blades seem to last forever. I know it could be the wood which is red oak I’m cutting now but I have used both on cherry too and had the same results. Just thought I would share my experience.
  10. I have filed the old one a couple of times already. My biggest problem is I forget to put some oil on it. I very rarely change the back tension rod. With the old wedge I could wiggle it back and forth quite a bit when the tension was set. With the new wedge it is tight like it should be. Hopefully I will remember to put a couple drops of oil on it from now on.
  11. My 27 year old RBI 226vs is starting to show some wear. Been having trouble keeping tension on blade so I started checking things over and noticed the wedge on tensioning rod was rounded over on the point that sits in the arm. Its supposed to be a sharp point. Ordered a new wedge from Bushton on Sat and got in the mail yesterday. Put it on today And didn't have any trouble with keeping tension. I thought that was fast service and they even enclosed a note wishing Happy Halloween.
  12. My 226vs is serial number 5135 and I bought it new in 1996.
  13. made this for my oldest grandson. It’s a Popiel pocket fisherman we bought for him when he was younger as a gag Xmas gift. He caught a lot of fish with it. It finally gave up when he caught a bigger bass with it.
  14. I went to a battery trimmer last year. I really like it but I can’t do my whole yard on one battery. I have to recharge it to do the whole yard. Still have a gas chainsaw just a smaller one. Gave the big ol’ Stihl I had to my son so I still have access to it if I need it.
  15. Here is the pictures of the side and back. The top hole is the access hole for the movement and the bottom hole is if you want to put a light in it.
  16. I agree with you Dick my kids don’t really want them and we are out of room here so I’m not going to make any more unless someone asks me to. Another problem with them is dusting them. They are hard to dust. In the winter time I will take a small brush and some Howard’s feed and wax and go over the whole clock when my wife tells me they need dusted.
  17. I like that it’s beautiful
  18. It was 1 1/2 thick
  19. I made the whole clock out of a 6foot long and 8 inch wide piece of cherry and a few off cuts from other projects. I did a lot of resawing on the bandsaw.
  20. I tried to sell the top one in the picture above for $800 and didn’t have any takers. People here in Iowa won’t pay that kinda money for a clock.
  21. I used spray poly after I assembled it
  22. here are the other 2 clocks I have made
  23. I have been working on it since The middle of May off and on whenever I had time. I used Pegas #3 Rev. I am keeping it for now but this is the third and final clock I'm going to make. One of my kids will probably end up with one of them because we are out of display room.
