  1. I have one finger that's flat on the end because of a disc sander.
  2. I ordered from Denny on the recommendation of people on here and I was not disappointed.
  3. I ordered some blades from Artcrafters last Friday evening and I received them today. Thats pretty fast shipping from Tennesse to Iowa with a holiday throwed in there. This is the first time I ordered from them and I will be ordering from them whenever I need blades.
  4. Made this Iowa Hawkeye sign for my son. 3/4 inch plywood burnt with a torch and coated with lacquer. First time burning with a torch. I got it a little heavy in one corner and caught it on fire on another corner.
  5. I’m with Wichman I can pretty much still do most things except roofs but it takes me a couple of days to recover from doing them. I just turned 70 last month and I have a wonderful son that will help me whenever I need it.
  6. I have the Performax spindle sander from Menards. The sanding sleeves won’t grip the spindle on the bigger spindles and it seems underpowered. I wouldn’t recommend it.
  7. that’s kind of what I do when I make these signs. I cut all of it out of a flat board and glue everything back in at different heights. I also paint everything before I glue it together. If the sign is too big for my saw I cut everything out of different thickness of wood and paint it and glue it together.
  8. Made this for my son who works at a Mack truck dealer
  9. I have never had that happen to my Hawks and I tighten them real tight so I would agree with Ray that they might be rough. Also check and make sure your blade is centered in the clamp. That might cause it too if it’s not centered.
  10. My 96 226vs has the square clamps and I thought those were the first vs models. Learn something new every day
  11. That looks identical to the one I bought several years ago. It was made in 1999 and had a serial number 34@@@ so it’s probably made around 2000. Just my guess. I think all the vs models had the square clamps.
  12. Happy New Year Ray and everyone else
  13. Merry Christmas to everyone on Scrollsaw Village. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.
  14. They are not very safe because I ate them. Might have to look into putting a lock on it that only my wife has the key for it.
  15. I bought the tin prepunched and the doors are pocket screws and glue
  16. I used the scrollsaw to cut out the name on this toy box I made for my great grandson. Made it out of red cedar.
  17. I bought the tin pre punched. These pictures are before the finish was put on.
  18. Hhave’nt been doing much scrolling lately been making some other things and this pie safe is my latest project. Doors and top are mulberry and cabinet is red oak. I hope to get back to scrolling soon. Going to try to make the Chimes of Normandy clock next.
  19. I have a 1996 vs226 Hawk that I bought new. I have replaced the spring on the back that holds the arm up and the nylon washer on top of the wedge. This saw has had a lot of use and still runs like the day I bought it. Every couple of years I take the saw apart and clean and put a little lube on things. I guess I would consider a Hawk a commercial saw.
  20. Looks great thanks for giving me the idea to build one.
  21. My sister in law had a walnut headboard she wanted to cut down to make a shelf. She asked me to make her something else with the left over wood. I saw this post and I thought she would like this. Also made her a chartrucie board.
  22. My version of the cookbook stand. 10 inches by 10 inches and made out of walnut
  23. I have been using mine since the original part broke about a year ago. I tried to order it when it broke and it wasn't available anywhere. So I wonder if they were aware of the problem back then but didn't have a fix for it yet.
  24. Thanks for sharing that. I just sent mine in.
  25. It’s actually the second one of these I have made. I made the first one for my grandson 18 years ago.
