  1. my version of the Chimes of Normandy. I left a few things off that I thought weren’t necessary. 1756 holes drilled and only a dozen blades. Made out of quarter inch cherry.
  2. The link worked for me
  3. I get a sinus infection every time I work with walnut. I have a fan with a filter on it that sucks the dust away from me.
  4. This is my shop buddy Rose cooling off on the cement of my shop. She likes to come in and steal the cutouts when they fall on the floor and chew on them.
  5. The ones I have made were not cut at an angle and were fairly easy to make.
  6. My 1996 226vs came with the shelf kit. When I bought my 220vs a couple of years ago I went to the web site to order the shelf kit it wasn’t there. I still haven’t got around to making my own.
  7. My old Hawk will vibrate if I turn it all the way up but I never cut up that high so it’s not a problem for me.
  8. I finally raised the backend of my Hawk after seeing many do it with their saws. My neck didn’t hurt when I was done sawing like it usually does. Wished I had done it a long time ago.
  9. Thanks Bob I think that’s what I need to try
  10. Thanks for the reply Ray. I thought about the bandsaw but didn’t know if I could get them cut square. I guess I’ll try it because I have a lot more to cut to finish the clock.
  11. I am making this clock and I’m having trouble cutting the small pieces to size before I cut the scroll work. I have been using my miter saw but I’m afraid I’m going to lose a finger doing it with the miter saw. How do you guys cut really small pieces? I’m talking an inch wide by two inches long and some are smaller than that. Thanks
  12. I have one finger that's flat on the end because of a disc sander.
  13. I ordered from Denny on the recommendation of people on here and I was not disappointed.
  14. I ordered some blades from Artcrafters last Friday evening and I received them today. Thats pretty fast shipping from Tennesse to Iowa with a holiday throwed in there. This is the first time I ordered from them and I will be ordering from them whenever I need blades.
  15. Made this Iowa Hawkeye sign for my son. 3/4 inch plywood burnt with a torch and coated with lacquer. First time burning with a torch. I got it a little heavy in one corner and caught it on fire on another corner.
  16. I’m with Wichman I can pretty much still do most things except roofs but it takes me a couple of days to recover from doing them. I just turned 70 last month and I have a wonderful son that will help me whenever I need it.
  17. I have the Performax spindle sander from Menards. The sanding sleeves won’t grip the spindle on the bigger spindles and it seems underpowered. I wouldn’t recommend it.
  18. that’s kind of what I do when I make these signs. I cut all of it out of a flat board and glue everything back in at different heights. I also paint everything before I glue it together. If the sign is too big for my saw I cut everything out of different thickness of wood and paint it and glue it together.
  19. Made this for my son who works at a Mack truck dealer
  20. I have never had that happen to my Hawks and I tighten them real tight so I would agree with Ray that they might be rough. Also check and make sure your blade is centered in the clamp. That might cause it too if it’s not centered.
  21. My 96 226vs has the square clamps and I thought those were the first vs models. Learn something new every day
  22. That looks identical to the one I bought several years ago. It was made in 1999 and had a serial number 34@@@ so it’s probably made around 2000. Just my guess. I think all the vs models had the square clamps.
  23. Happy New Year Ray and everyone else
  24. Merry Christmas to everyone on Scrollsaw Village. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.
  25. I used the scrollsaw to cut out the name on this toy box I made for my great grandson. Made it out of red cedar.
