  1. I’m right there with you on that. This year will be our fortieth. Best decision I ever made. We got married when I was 22 and she was 18. Not the wisest thing I know. Odds were against us and we were dirt poor but it worked. As far as the pattern making I use a laptop so location isn’t a problem.
  2. Thank you so much. One thing that helps is I sometimes spend several days fiddling with one usually while my wife and I are sitting around in the evening. Kind of like working on a puzzle.

  4. Yes I did!!! Actually, “Wax on, wax off. “
  5. I see where you’re coming from on both of those, but it’s Ralph Maccio from Karate Kid.
  6. Good job! Also a fly in the upper left.
  7. I see where you get that, but no.
  8. It's a boy, and there are a couple of things already in the cutting that should give it away, if you are familiar with the movie and this scene .
  9. Great looking table full of stuff! Lots of man hours represented there.
  10. Recognize this kid from a 1980’s movie yet? *Finished up Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso in Karate Kid. This one makes me happy. Good memories from those years.
  11. Great work. Love seeing all your bowls! I plan to make an oblong one for our dining room table.
  12. All 3 are great. Love the wood you used on the hands!
  13. Beautiful! I like the way you did the end cut also. Great job.
  14. Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games. Pattern is in the library. And may the odds be ever in your favor.
  15. Yes it was. I didn’t remember you lived there till I was posting this.
  16. Glad I found out about it. It did cut very nice.
  17. First of all I found out I really like Sycamore wood. I found a new consignment store about 2 hours away with a large variety of kiln dried sawmill wood. Woohoo!!! Cut this for an old friend. Rich was a Christian music artist. I especially liked him because though he made tons of money he gave most of it to a Native American Reservation in New Mexico where he lived and taught children music. He took a salary of $20,000 a year from the millions that would have been available to him.
  18. Beautiful! How awesome that he calls you like that. Something money can’t buy right there.
  19. Very cool! I'm sure kids will love it!
  20. Nice job! Zebra pictures and scroll saws are a good combination.
  21. Beautiful job! Love how you blended the colors. Reminds me of a guitar.
  22. Nice job on all. Your grandson looks like he was having fun!
  23. Cool! Awesome pattern @grampa!
  24. Love those! If I show them to my wife I'll probably be making one.
  25. Thank you so much Dick. I should probably try GIMP as I've seen a lot of pattern designers use it. For me the pattern making is as much or more fun as cutting. So many little things you learn by trial and error. Things like what to cut and what to leave to the imagination. Sometimes an obvious line or shadow on the picture just doesn't translate well when you put it on the pattern. I'll help any way I can. I'm no expert by a long shot but I've learned a lot by doing it the wrong way. Just like life.
