    Thank you. Actually, I didn't. I knew I liked the grain, but I was pleasantly surprised when I soaked it in oil after cutting it and it brought out the lights and darks. It is actually prettier in person. The biggest reason I used it was that I don't have any oak on hand. I'm glad I didn't because I really like it but, for me, oak is so much easier. The pine cuts so quickly it's easier to make a mistake.

    She’s one of those I never paid that much attention to, but as I was listening to her songs on Alexa while I was cutting it I realized what a fan I always was without really knowing it.

    Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. The pattern is in the library but I added a few strands of hair as I cut it. Listened to her music as I cut. Brought back some good memories. *Added some feathers to give her a little more attitude.

    They are fascinating birds. They lay their eggs on the ground with no real nest, just sort of a wallowed out place, sometimes even in gravel. You'll know you're close to their eggs when they start chirping loudly and running around to lead you away from it. They will stop and lay on the ground and feign a broken wing, like they are luring a predator away from their eggs. I didn't really work from a pattern, just an edited picture of a real Killdeer, so I made a pattern from the cutting I did. You may have to alter it a bit as you go.
