  1. Big piece to turn around on those cuts near the edge, isn't it? Nice job!
  2. Glad I did it. Zero desire to do it again! Keychains for volunteer drivers for our local Meals On Wheels.
  3. Good to hear from you Kevin. Happy Thanksgiving!
  4. I love em John! Is the pattern shareable or can you tell me where to find it? My daughter and her two kiddos would love to do the painting on those.
  5. Beautiful!! Like Paul, I'd love to do one some day.
  6. Beautiful box, Dave!
  7. Robert Duvall as Gus McCrae from Lonesome Dove. The rough cut, weathered, wormy oak suited this one I thought.
  8. Wonderful job on everything and the coloring on the panther is great! "Spot on", even. It really does jump out of the piece.
  9. Beautiful job!
  10. Those are great Barb! Can’t help but bring a smile.
  11. Thank you. There is a consignment shop near me where people rent booths and sell mostly junk and antiques. One booth is owned by a man with a sawmill and he sells odd, weathered, no good for building, wood for like $2-$3 a board. This was a piece from one of those boards. Being a spiritual piece, I think it fits, something that might be considered trash turned into something beautiful.
  12. Great job on everything. Love the ornaments!
  13. Simplicity and beautifully imperfect wood.
  14. Beautiful!
  15. Roger Miller was such a funny, talented guy. I love so many of his songs. Today, being World Kindness Day, one of Roger's lyrics seems appropriate. "I wish I had your happiness, and you had a Do-Wacka-Do.
  16. All are great. I especially like the three little pigs. Beautifully painted, as always.
  17. Thanks! Misery loves company!!!
  18. I like it! Buck Owens did the one I’ve heard the most. Slim would’ve fit in nicely in Nashville back in the day.
  19. Just in case this didn't make it down under, wanted to share one of my all time favorites. Very short but I love it. Sang it to my kids, and now grandkids.
  20. Meanie!
  21. I promise I'm not excited about it. Same reason I'm not tempted to sell. For some wonderful people though so I'll get through it. As much as I love cutting portraits, doing one twice is like work.
  22. I deliver meals one day a week for our local meals on wheels program called Manna. They asked me if I'd make keychains to give all the volunteers. Their logo has a loaf of bread and two fish so I worked that into the letters. The M being a slice of bread, and the A's being fish if you can't tell. Now just 74 more to go. At least I know what I'll be sawing for a while. It'll be a good excuse to listen to Christmas songs early while I'm cutting.
  23. Welcome from Alabama! Wonderful place to learn and grow more addicted. I also have a Hegner and love it. Beautiful piece of wood on the Christmas tree you did. I do a lot of resawing, planing, etc myself before a piece of wood I've found/been given is useable. Seems like a luxury to have wood that's readly to go as is.
  24. Excellent work Dick!
