    Thank you. There is a consignment shop near me where people rent booths and sell mostly junk and antiques. One booth is owned by a man with a sawmill and he sells odd, weathered, no good for building, wood for like $2-$3 a board. This was a piece from one of those boards. Being a spiritual piece, I think it fits, something that might be considered trash turned into something beautiful.

    Roger Miller was such a funny, talented guy. I love so many of his songs. Today, being World Kindness Day, one of Roger's lyrics seems appropriate. "I wish I had your happiness, and you had a Do-Wacka-Do.

    I promise I'm not excited about it. Same reason I'm not tempted to sell. For some wonderful people though so I'll get through it. As much as I love cutting portraits, doing one twice is like work.

    I deliver meals one day a week for our local meals on wheels program called Manna. They asked me if I'd make keychains to give all the volunteers. Their logo has a loaf of bread and two fish so I worked that into the letters. The M being a slice of bread, and the A's being fish if you can't tell. Now just 74 more to go. At least I know what I'll be sawing for a while. It'll be a good excuse to listen to Christmas songs early while I'm cutting.

    Welcome from Alabama! Wonderful place to learn and grow more addicted. I also have a Hegner and love it. Beautiful piece of wood on the Christmas tree you did. I do a lot of resawing, planing, etc myself before a piece of wood I've found/been given is useable. Seems like a luxury to have wood that's readly to go as is.

    I agree. I am going to go to something less bulky though. With my glasses, and the addition of bluetooth headphones, soon hopefully, I need something less cumbersome.

    It didn't take me long to realize my rookie mistake with my dust collection engineering while cutting this Seahorse for my granddaughter. A couple of minutes into cutting, the wood hit the pvc piping. Thankfully I hadn't glued anything and it was a quick fix to move it back and out of the way. On the positive side, I cut the whole thing and had virtually zero dust on or under my saw. I'm thinking I may be able to do without the dust mask. You can buy these Seahorses on Etsy, but they don't have the love in them.
