  1. I like those a lot, Dick!
  2. Having lost my parents and my only sibling is a strange new feeling. Realizing your immediate family members are gone is pretty sobering and brings the brevity of life into focus. Good reminder to live in the present and for your family.
  3. Thank you. I couldn’t find the original image again but the artist captured so much meaning in a simple picture.
  4. We really did and it has definitely helped me be at peace. We haven’t had a cross word since crazy teenage years.
  5. Nice job! I did make the pattern above but I've seen others very similar from the same original source.
  6. Thank you, Barb.
  7. Thank you! She was a great sister!
  8. Thank you Jerry. Her son requested the portrait I made of her which she had in her home.
  9. Thank you! We're going again this Thanksgiving. It'll be bittersweet.
  10. My sweet sister Amy, 66, passed away as the result of a stroke a week ago. Her happy place was Cape San Blas, Florida. We went there together with our families and shared a beach house for the week of Thanksgiving several times. Those weeks were like Heaven on Earth. She had no grandchildren so was like a bonus grandmother to my 5. She and I shared a love for the song "Here Comes The Sun" as done by James Taylor and Yo Yo Ma. Her son-in-law is a gifted guitarist and played it at the funeral. I cut this the night before to put alongside her beach pictures at the funeral chapel as a tribute to her, and therapy for me. You can see her bird that has left our flock in the upper right. Amy was able to donate her kidneys, liver, and eye lenses. Cherish your loved ones each day.
  11. Nice job on a sentimental piece! Love how the grain in the backer works with it.
  12. Never entered my clean, untarnished mind.
  13. Wow Kris! That's insanely good. Isn't that the last train to Clarksville?
  14. Looks great! Thanks for sharing. The frame is very appropriate.
  15. A friend of mine is a huge Dolly fan and got to meet her a few years ago. I got this picture off of her FB page to make her a souvenir.
  16. Nice work. My father-in-law passed away with cancer a year or so ago. Someone at one of his treatment centers gave my wife a cross like these made of olive wood and it means a lot to her. She had me drill it so she could hang it from her mirror.
  17. Nice job! I had a piece of ply just like that from a drawer bottom as well. Wish I had a pile of it.
  18. My next door neighbor's son invited us to his 7th birthday party. We're pretty good buddies and he calls me "Mr. Charlie." His mom will probably like this more than he does so of course we'll bring a toy/game present too. Giving a kid a wooden portrait would probably be as exciting to them as socks. The words, written so skillfully , are from Bob Dylan's, Forever Young.
  19. Pretty!
  20. The only Gecko I've seen in the wild was in the hall of a Comfort Inn in Troy, Alabama. I live in North Eastern Alabama. I don't guess they make it this far north.
  21. Nice job Tyler. I enjoy seeing the joy and passion you obviously have for creating with the scroll saw.
  22. Thanks, Marie. I’ll be keeping them on the inside. My neighbors might not like my taste. We have so many of these little Anoles in our yard I added on of them.
  23. Great job on both. Great likeness of Judy as Dorothy.
  24. Thanks Dick. They are hanging on a door from a barn from my wife's family that was around 100 years old.
