  1. Two cool pieces. I really like The Shadow. Works so well being off to the side, especially with the flow of the wood grain. Excellent!
  2. Nice job! I’ve never seen that type of bird. Beautiful!
  3. Thank you. Yes it is! I still have a 24 slot 8 track case I carried in my car back in the day. I’m thinking my tape deck was aftermarket, under dash.
  4. I’ve been a Waylon fan for almost fifty years. I was at the Opryland Amusement Park in Tennessee around 1975 and heard him play, not really knowing much about him, and have been a fan since.
  5. Thank you, Marg.
  6. Thank you. This is a memory for everyone who had Mrs. Hudson. If you mention her name it will likely come up. Hopefully it will bring her some joy.
  7. Great job!
  8. Nice work! I'm sure you'll love your new saw.
  9. Thank you very much!
  10. Thank you so much! So many fun things can be done in this hobby.
  11. Thank you so much! This one took a couple of weeks but I really enjoyed it, most of the time. Lots of different steps.
  12. My high school English teacher always had the senior class memorize the first 18 lines of the prologue of The Canterbury Tales. Written in Old English, it is the story of a group of pilgrims on their way to Canterbury Cathedral. I included in the frame the line which translates, "Then folk long to go on pilgrimages" along with some nods to some things mentioned in the prologue, the rain, the wind, the sun, and singing birds. I'll be surprising Mrs. Hudson, my English teacher, with it soon. It is around 11" X 14", 3/4" alder wood, painted with acrylic craft paints with a spray clear coat.
  13. Beautiful piece done on a beautiful piece of wood! The contouring you did really transformed that grain into art.
  14. Very cute!
  15. Nice job and glad you are recovering.
  16. Very nicely done!
  17. Beautiful!
  18. Great job!
  19. Thanks Jerry! So glad my sister had the idea. Otherwise it would have wound up in a landfill someday.
  20. My dad was a Baptist minister. 50ish years ago he brought a discarded upright piano home from the country church he was pastoring and refurbished it. It stayed in my mom and dad's home till they passed away. Then my sister had it for awhile, but it's been stored in a garage for years now. My sister saw something similar to these somewhere and asked me if i could make her one of the key holders. I made her and her daughter the key holders and my son and daughter-in-law the one that says, "Love is the key." All the materials except for the text and the hangers came from the old piano. The little brass buttons are part of the key/hammer mechanism of the piano, called capstans. Felt like my dad was smiling while I worked on them. The chips on the keys were done by my mischievous son and nephew with a toy hammer. Maw Maw wasn't happy.
  21. Nice. I thought about making a Marble Drop game.
  22. I agree with Paul. I feel like it's stalking me.
  23. Great job. I love how all the colors work together.
  24. Very nice! I’ve made lots of running medal hangers using mug hooks. Yours is way cooler!
  25. Yes, I really liked the looks of it. I traded it all in for 15 board feet of Alder.
