  1. A nice cutting of a great pattern of a beautiful lass. Looks very Victorian with the large dark frame, but suits the costume well.
  2. Really nice Frank. Almost tribal .
  3. On a roll Kevin. You can't keep a good man down.
  4. A great piece. I do like the gnomes, they just look like cheeky little buggers. I must cut some.
  5. Wishing you lots of fun with your new machine Barbara. Looking forward to LOTS of posts from you
  6. I saw a concert of his, about the same time, on DVD, an amazing amount of energy. He has so many songs that I like it would take quite awhile to list A few are "The Thunder Rolls", "Friends in Low places", "Mama's in the grave yard Papa's in the pen", "Unanswered prayers", ete etc @Charlie E Another winner mate. You are on a roll. If you have a sec, I'd appreciate a copy of the pattern. Don't know when I'll get around cutting him.
  7. I use an old Windows 7 and can see everything, some times too much
  8. Excellent cutting and well put together. This too, is one of my favourite songs. My youngest son is autistic and many years ago< he was 2< I took long service leave from the Police force and we travelled around Australia for 3 months. At a small caravan park in South Australia, there was a group of entertainers staying. Everybody was sitting around a camp fire just chatting when this huge Thursday Islander fellow, picked up our son and sang this song to him. He sounded so much like Satchmo, that with your eyes closed you'd of sworn it was the man himself.
  9. A great use of junk and a helping hand to boot.
  10. Damn Chuck, I'm so so sorry to hear of your loss. I truly don't know how you found the strength to cut those beautiful portraits of your wife mate. Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.
  11. A nice bright piece. bet that kept you busy for awhile.
  12. G'day all, Not a real problem, but just wondering if anybody else has had problems with the Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse #3 Blades. I have had these for quite awhile, but find that they tend to break at the "Crimp" after a dozen or so hole changes (Clampings.) I have a new batch. only a couple of months old and will get around to trying them ASAP. It's a bit of bugbear especially since 90% of the blade is still good, just short Also I'm getting a little tired of Jumping every time one does break, good exercise, though it may be
  13. I like them a lot Rodney. Well done to Gampa on the great pattern. I usually do my backers flat /satin black. It's much more forgiving than gloss.
  14. Iggy, you left out the biggest expense. The War Office "That'd make a nice present for ......" "I'm going to a baby shower on Wednesday, What do have that'd make a nice Present" etc etc etc
  15. That's a good idea Charlie. I may just have to try it on my next lot. I did make some dress-up dolls from ply and cut them on an angle, I will have to dig out photos and show you, as they are hard to explain. They sold well though.
  16. Thanks Heaps Barb, Marg and Dick. I appreciate your comments If you only knew how much time and indecision I spend on deciding colours, and I never let the wife see things until they are finished, or they will all get rearranged again
  17. I knew exactly what you were saying Barbara, and thank you very much. You just don't see many of my spelling mistakes because I go back and correct them 3 or 4 times
  18. Absolutely beautiful pieces Rodney. Kudos also to Jim for wonderful pattern. Both nice, but the lower one really pops IMHO.
  19. Both are very nice Danny. I do love the crow. I had a pattern in mind the other day and wondered how it would look with the face black and the backer light. You have answered that question. With the right picture... fantastic.
  20. Thanks Frank, Done mate.
  21. Just realised I spelt the title wrong, Is there away to change it?
  22. Completed these 2 today. It has been a long time since I made any name puzzles and I had to stop and stir the grey matter a few times to bring back my methods. Cut from 6mm mdf with a 3mm mdf backer. I used a Pegas PG#3 and should of used a #5. The pieces are a little more snug than I like when making puzzles for little hands. Isabel 310mm x 105mm, Charlie 370mm x 105mm. The dot on the I is glued in place.
  23. Very nice cutting Your photography skills are not to be sneezed at either. The photos look almost like renderings.
  24. That's nifty.
  25. Absolutely beautifully done, both the pattern and the cutting.
