  1. Good job The top one is real feel good cutting.
  2. Great job on cutting that Bob. Charlie does great patterns. It still seems a little surreal at the moment.
  3. Love it Rodney. Well done mate Using a torch gives the bullet holes a real nice look. I believe it's 4 clicks C-O-L-T.
  4. If I remember correctly, The Duke once said something like "It's a great job, all I've got to be is myself" I think the only bummers are where he tried to impersonate somebody else, like Genghis Khan and the Centurion in The greatest Story ever Told' "Truly this Man is The Son of God" I still regularly watch John Wayne Movies. You know who the good guys are and the bad blokes always get their comeuppance. The way things should be. BTW That's a nice pattern and cutting Kris.
  5. Good things come to those who wait, except the worm, the worm goes to those who get there first
  6. A good job. Something that will come out every year for the tree and in years to come, invoke a lot of memories.
  7. The painted pieces are are painted all over, including edges'
  8. Another puzzle to add to my collection. I think I will try #3 blade next time, although I have to be careful as the paint fills up the cuts pretty quickly. I don't like the pieces to be too tight as it frustrates the kiddies. I used an Olson Mac 7 to cut the perimeter and a PG#5 for internal cuts.
  9. Beautiful Marg. Nothing like a personalised card. I thought I was the only one that used my saw to cut paper I must of cut out thousands of bits and pieces for Bette when she taught kindy.
  10. Kevin if you click on the pics, then click on them a second time they blow up to quite a good size, and the table looks almost brand-new. From the pics, I'd hazard guess that it doesn't know the meaning of work
  11. I'd snap it up, if it was within 6 hours or so of me. Taiwan are the goodn's.
  12. A great bunch Melanie, I think "Jill of all trades" is what you are looking for:) The extent of my carving was to do a couple of simple rosettes for a piece of furniture I was repairing.
  13. Another nice pattern and Cutting Charlie. I only discovered Bob about 10 years ago and loved watching his show. I agree, that afterwards you would of had to try very hard to be angry. I don't now how I stayed awake through them
  14. If a cartoon cutting can be great, you did it Frank. I truly like him. I also loved the cartoons and barracked for Wylie. Perhaps that's why I'm a lousy gambler
  15. Very Nice Rodney. For some reason the 2nd one really grabs me. When I saw the title of your post I expected "Click Bang x 2"
  16. You wouldn't believe how many times I tried to take those photos. Had to chuck the cat out and shut the door to the room eventually. She also loves to do my typing for me
  17. Thanks Ray, The Pine is a soft wood and the Jarrah is a hard wood, no, a Bloody hard wood If I'm an inspiration, I am humbled and pleased. If I can help you out in any way, just ask. Thank you
  18. No it doesn't Frank, I love your use of colour mate, You are an artist, me, I'm a Tradie. Putting together pieces of timber is how I used to make a living.
  19. Completed this for my wife, only a week late for our anniversary. I did get her flowers and chocies on the day For her desk at school if anything could go wrong with this it did, even to the point of the cat getting in on the photos Radiata Pine and Jarrah E and heart inlaid.
  20. Nice work Kevin. Remember, you are responsible for dishing up your plate, Your decide how much you can eat at one sitting. Don't over do it.
  21. I have considered a laser to brand my work, but am leery of it as it just gives the No Laser/CNC sign a slight untruth, unless I go with a complete disclaimer and explanation. I have found that a variety of items brings about the best response, as people are varied and looking to purchase different things at different times. Unless you are a regular at specific events and have built up a reputation, not many people attend markets with a particular purchase in mind, it is a more "spur of the moment purchase". "Dad would love that, his birthday is coming up" etc. I love cutting portraits, but they do not sell near as well as puzzles and toys, but, that being said. If I sell one, it makes up for about 5 or more puzzles. They are also visible from a distance and attract attention. If people wish to sell laser. cnc work I have no problems with that, only when they label it as hand made. You only have to look at Etsy to see the huge amount of sites that are listed as "Handmade" when Lasers are being used. This is paramount to me writing a piece of poetry in a beautiful font on my computer and calling it hand made compared to getting out a calligraphy pen and doing the same thing. No comparison and one Is definitely not hand made. If handmade wasn't a selling point these liars would not be using it as a come on. I agree that the number of true handmade stalls have declined and there seems to be a lot resellers of Chinese crap at markets I also see what Kevin was seeing, poorly made items etc, but I give them the benefit of the doubt. Everybody has to start somewhere, or maybe they are blind
  22. Good for you Bruce. It's nice to show our hobby off. I have taken my saw to few functions over the years for demonstration purposes. As for prices, if you are happy with what you charge and what you got, so be it mate.
  23. A couple of beauts Frank. the colours look good. I am currently working on one for the missus.
  24. You must be very proud Dick, having your work hung in a public place for all to see.
  25. Thanks Dave, That would be appreciated mate.
