Down the Rabbit {Gnome} hole you go
  2. Well done. I admire the patience and skill it took to make.
  3. I'm in the "BOTH" camp as well. The majority of my cuts are done with a straight blade. For some text, especially if it is near the bottom or top of a cutting, and cursive, I will use a spiral. I also use spirals for widening features (Veining). I don't like them on solid timber, as Jarrah is to hard and it takes forever and Pine leaves heaps of "Fuzzies"
  4. Wordle 518 4/6 The odd man out

  6. Never been there, Come a few hundred K's from it on one trip. The underground homes grew from miner camping in their mines and slowly expanding them. One thing in video is pretty laughable, The miner panning in the creek/river There is bugger all water any where near Coober Pedy, I believe it is piped in and desalinated.these days. Dry blowing was the method miners used in desert regions Would be an interesting place to stay for a night.

    Fun

You'd think after all these years they would of figured out a way make them run quieter.

  9. I believe "Distressed" is the correct term: Like in the 70's taking a chain and blow torch to a perfectly good piece of furniture, it increased it's value, buggered if I could ever figure out how
  10. A bucket of water. Good Job Barb, at the risk of repeating what moist people have said, They are cute. White is a problem when using a brush, easy when sprayed.
  11. I use an Olson PG #5. I can't tell you how much slack is to much?. I cut my puzzles for kids and so I like them to be a little loose so they don't get frustrated. One coat of paint on joining pieces and then I cut back the bloom so that it is smooth.

  14. Here's what I use. A 1/4" Jacobs chuck. it holds the finest bit. You can find them on most old 1/4" electric drills. Just thread the correct size bolt into the chuck, cu the head off and place in the chuck of the drill press.
  15. Protection (looks) and it makes them wipeable after grubby little hands have played with them
  16. Wordle 511 4/6 @JackJones Just snuck that one in mate
  17. Just bight the bullet and go for it, If you're still a bit windy after you've made it, I'm sure there's somebody you could give it to.
  18. I have completed 36 stand up puzzles to add to the cache. These are 4 new designs that I have cut from 30mm Radiata Pine, using Olson #7 Mach for outside cuts and a Olson PG #5 for inside cuts Two coats of gloss lacquer over acrylic paint. Boats 170 x 150mm. Cat 215 x 130mm, Utes 230 x 100mm, 3 little pigs 220 x 170mm
  19. I would be a supporter of The Wooden teddy Bear as they sell Flying Dutchman and Olson blades. Their service is top notch and they also have a very reasonable priced range of other items, hardware and patterns that would interest a scroll sawyer https://woodenteddybear.com/
  20. Your own fault Kevin, You should never, let the smoke out:
  21. I have 2 pedestal drills. My old one I use for sanding mops and home made drums. It's an 18 speed, but I changing belts for various jobs gets a bit beyond the joke after awhile, So I got a variable speed unit which I use for just about everything else. It has a light and and laser pointer, which is pretty useless as the drill bit points to where the hole is going to be anyhow. A pic of my new (Newer) Pedestal. I like the free standing units as I don't have to find bench space to place them.
