  2. Lovely fire, great cutting, good idea,,,, what more can you ask for ? Brilliant !
  3. Love the 'furry' bits. !! Love the cutting, it's beautiful ,,, but like @barb.j.enders said, 'Cat in the Hat' meant something else to me.
  4. Can't help with wood as I'm in UK, but would like to say 'Welcome' to the Village.

    Paris.

    Beautiful !!
  6. I get dizzy using magnifiers so I put on a pair of shop bought magnifying reading glasses and that does me fine.
  7. Beautiful !! I have a 'cat mad' friend that might just love a set of these. Thanks.
  8. Welcome to the Village. Enjoy, it's a great place to be..
  9. It's plywood.. A friend has a 2ft one made of wrought iron. He sent me a photo and asked if I could do a small one for their xmas dinner table. So this is the 'prototype' so to speak. I have made him one out of mahogany which he loves, but thought I'd keep this one for my own table, and yes, you are right it would go against the grain to paint a solid wood one.
  10. Mmm paint or not to paint !! It's going to have a pile of Ferrero Rocher on the base, just for me
  11. I can relate to all you say. My hubby has copd, I have fluid that's turned to jelly under my lung and it's displacing the lung. They think I've had a pneumonia at some point. However, it's hoped it will dissipate over time and will re-scan me in 3mths. But my lungs themselves have been given the all clear. I must admit to looking like 'Darth Vadar' when I'm in my workshop, I have a mask, ear defenders, an extraction fan on the outside wall, a vacuum, and a box fan.
  12. I haven't done any work for a while as I've been under a consultant with my lungs. Having scans, blood tests and biopsy. But the good news is I'm fine and can now go back to my workshop. Now lets see if I remember how to work a scrollsaw.

I think it looks good. I admire anyone that can do these on a Scrollsaw. I can't for love nor money cut thick wood so I cheat and use my bandsaw.
  14. Great saying, beautiful work. Sending you my very best wishes for better days ahead.
  15. Do you mean just a pattern or is it a keychain you're trying to make ?
  16. I would gladly buy the poodle pattern please, if you're selling....
  17. Brilliant idea !!
  18. Must confess Jim, I'm a relative newbie, but I've joined and then left several other 'scrollsaw groups' as I personally found them unpalatable, however, this group was the first that I found on my scrollsaw journey and is now the only one I belong to.. People on here are the most helpful bunch you'll find anywhere on the planet. They've steered me through so much, what machine, what wood, how to, how not too.!! I'm tremendously indebted to this community. Very occasionally a 'squabble' rears it's head but Travis keeps us in check and then all runs smoothly again. JMO
  19. I'm having a few niggles with my blood pressure and fluid on my lungs at the minute. Being sorted for both but these things take time. Been told no sawdust for a while and 'gentle' exercise till all the test results come though. Had a big needle through my ribs today to take fluid, and have a fair bit of bleeding in my eye !! I've had better days. But thank you for your concern, it means a lot. xxx
  20. Welcome to the Village from over here too. Enjoy !! Tons of help and resources in the Village. !!
  21. @Travis We got to 10! Woo Hoo! More is just icing on the cake. Can anybody else help out? Hi Travis, I've contributed in the past, but am in and out of hospital at the minute and that leaves me minimum time and energy to myself. I will however contribute by buying them when they're done. Well Done to all the pattern makers, you do a fabulous job !!!
  22. Beautiful !!
  23. Ever thought of sitting down and writing all your 'gripes' on a piece of paper? Then you could just screw it up with as much vehemence as you wish without cluttering the 'ether' or offending anyone at all, bin it or burn it and still feel better. !
  24. Christmas came early !!!!!
  25. Stunning !! Something to be treasured !! Happy Anniversary to you both from this side of the ocean.
