  1. Brilliant, I love it.
  2. This isn't in the 'university' Paul, it's what I did for you a while back, but happy it helped.
  3. Nice work,, I love the owl too
  4. I can do this with flat blades but can't do much of anything with a spiral, I wish I could.
  5. Looks like a sweet easy done puzzle.
  6. I suppose it depends on what you 'started' with when you first learnt to use a scrollsaw.
  7. It's possible to change the colour of both the background and the outline of the patterns in Inkscape, I change all mine to light grey with a red cutting line as I have never found following a black line easy. which pattern are you using and what format ? jpg, pdf, svg ?
  8. All great stuff. I wish you all the luck in the world, but can't imagine you'd need it. Beautiful pieces !
  9. A great use of 'scraps' , nicely done. ! I envy you your comfort with spirals. I can't get on with them at all, even though I use them sometimes.
  10. Never looked inside. I know the bottom clamp comes in various sizes. I love mine. Although I have a hex screw in my bottom clamp.
  11. Not familiar with these Frank so may I ask,, you say you 'bought' these from Steve Good, yet cut them yourself ? I love them but am a little confused. As you say, getting old aint no fun.....
  12. Yep, I've done it with both. !!
  13. Aww, but you can do such pretty things with the router.
  14. I depends, I suppose, on what you cut. I tend to use it a lot on my 'fine' work, but have also used it on things with 'bigger' holes. I have used emery boards cut to size before too. You'll find what suits you and the work that you do over time, we all do. I usually use 3mm boards in the main, but also 6mm. Anything 'thicker' I usually sand by hand or with a 'detail' sander. It won't however, smooth an 'uneven' cut, I suppose you'd have to do that by hand. Here's one with a lot of fine 'inside cuts' and I find it works well with this type of work. The horses are 3mm and the gorilla is 6mm.
  15. Brilliant idea. The kids will love it. Nice work. !!
  16. A friend bought one of these made out of steel for his garden and asked if I could do one out of wood for the house. Mmm, not to my taste, but he liked it. I think they plan on painting the stars Gold/Silver and put Ferrero Rocher around the base.
  17. Must admit to having my frames in 4 pieces, router my rabbet and then put the mitred ends together. Perhaps cutting to within an inch or two from the corner and then finishing with a sharp chisel would work.
  18. These are 'Dome' shaped. I've thought about trying it in my drill press but I prefer to 'look down' at what I'm sanding, it make me feel more in control.
  19. It's called a Dome Sanding mop, it comes in various grits. It's bristles are nylon. I use mine all the time followed by brown paper. I save all my KFC bags It's made by Silverline, but as has been said, I live in the UK.
  20. Nice work ! Bandsaw box is a great idea. I did a 'tray' for sweets with my batman.
  21. I improvise and do this. It's a 120 sanding mop in an upside down drill. That said, I do pretty much everything on here even my most intricate stuff.
  22. So cute !! I love it.
  23. Perfect !
  24. Nice, a good likeness too. !
  25. Stunning, great work as usual. Enjoy the piece you made 'just for you', you deserve it !!
