  1. Thanks Les! Yes, It's one of the few things I've learned to make on Inkscape...lol. I've done several of them now.
  2. R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen Thanks to Al Baggetta for the pattern.
  3. Did a sign for my step-daughter's 20th anniversary. almost forgot to take a picture as I was packing it up to ship.
  4. Great pattern...and awesome work cutting it !!
  5. Very cool! Good luck, and keep us advised on how it goes!
  6. I've been doing the Sharpe thing...when I remember to. But I just got some of Steve Good's medallions. A wedding sign * I did the other day got the first one! Went real easy, drilled a 1" hole with a Forstner bit, put a couple drops of glue in the center of the hole ( it was a tight dry fit but just wanted to be sure it stayed put ) and stuck it in. I need to do some experimenting with different thicknesses of wood to see where I can use these. I like the way it looks! * I "got to" do this sign twice! About three days after she picked it up I got an email. It seems her husband saw the sign ( for a friend he works with ) loved it, but informed her the wedding was NOT the 10th...it was the 12th ! So she apologized, and asked me if I would make another with the correct date...LOL. Sure...I'd be happy to!
  7. Send her over...I need to take a few pictures...LOL
  8. I switched from blue tape to clear shelf liner because of that. And I always sand before. I also have been using full sheet shipping labels, print pattern on the label, peal & stick to liner done! No more lift and no mess. I think Kevin put me on to that trick late last year. I also use a 4" squeegee that has felt over one side. I think body shops use these to put on wraps and stripes, works great for liner and patterns, Amazon. I haven't heard the Shellac trick before, may have to try it.
  9. Good looking piece Dick! Yea I thought it is a cute piece too. I need to cut it one of these days.
  10. Very nice Marg!
  11. WOW! That was fast! And it looks awesome!
  12. Awesome Dan!! I've got a couple of pieces of 12"wide Poplar in the shop....gives me an idea.
  13. Looks like a Baritone Horn. Grandad on dad's side played TWO of them AT ONCE! Dad was third generation musical Vaudeville. Great grandpa played Two trombones at once sitting in a chair working the slides with his feet. Grandpa played two baritone horns at once,( and a ton of other instruments), even played them during a TV interview on his 99th birthday. Dad's favorite was a trumpet, he even played with the great Bob Wills at the Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa. That is a cool Baritone! Wonder how many years it took to make it...LOL
  14. ?????????? What ??????????
  15. Cool pattern and an awesome cut!!
  16. My "fun" projects are: 1. get through it without breaking or really messing it up. No designer firewood! 2. comes out really nice after finishing or a good outcome on a finish I haven't tried before. 3. It sells and I make money on it! Major Bonus fun and pride: Something that will be a keepsake for someone!! I've done several wedding/anniversary signs this year, so now they pretty much meet the three criteria above every time. But the major bonus is that 99% of the couples will hang it on the wall and get "a warm fuzzy feeling" every time they look at it. THAT really makes me happy.
  17. Is this it? Is it a strong magnet, or have you been cutting on it yet? Specifications for this item
  18. Holy cow!!! That thing looks like an aircraft carrier!!! But then again I'm use to looking at a 16" saw, not a 21". Denny, I heard somewhere ( a while back) that Pegas made a 16" but only released the 21" for the U.S.? If so do they make an extended table for a 16" ? If I ever have "extra money" HA then I'll get a 21" saw with a big table to leave at the "home shop" and keep the 16" King for our 5th wheel travels.
  19. I've gone to the labels also, really like it better. Just print the pattern on the label and stick it on!
  20. Thank you Marg!
  21. Thanks John! I thought the same thing, that's why I wanted to do it.
  22. Thank you very much Dan!! I really appreciate you passing me the drawing.
  23. I finished "John Lennon" the other day but just finished the frame and mounted it this morning. I'll put it on the website...but hope I get to keep it on the wall for a while. Fish passed me the pattern and I cut it on 1/4" Oak veneer with Pegas #1MG then shot it with spray Lacquer. I made the frame from Poplar spray painted black and cut black matboard for the backer.
  24. Thanks Brenda! I'm just finishing his pattern of Stevie Ray Vaughan. I'll probably make a frame for it.
  25. Both look great! Who did the pattern for the bird? I've seen that cutting mentioned not long ago but don't remember seeing who made the pattern. The frame looks great. My first didn't look that tight, but I was trying to figure it out on my own. Then I watched some You Tube videos and my second and third were better.
