Used Behr B3550 Fishing Village-I think it would have looked better if I had used Alder that wasn't so spalted. I am working on a frame using aspen and think the stain will look better on the lighter wood.

I liked your pattern Frank so I took a try at it. Cut from 1/4 Maple with a 1/8BB backer using a #2 spiral blade. I made the frame from alder and stained it. I must say the painting was challenging-getting the colors in the right place on the backer was time consuming. I probably went about the hard way

I have used it a lot and had good results. Spalted alder, if you find some is a good looking wood.

That river board is really nice. Was learning to do the epoxy challenging? I have been thinking about trying my hand at it but with the cost of the epoxy I have been hesitant.

I love the image and cut, just my eyes but I might have used a more yellowish orange for the Phoenix- I think we all see colors a little different. Once again the colors really make it a nice piece!

Once again your use of color in the projects is wonderful. -it really makes your projects special. I have been meaning to scroll some of these-the ones I have made I just put a rather plain pattern on the front. I got good corner results by setting my table saw at 45 degrees and leaving a tiny edge-not cutting all the way through as it were. I also used some hardwoods I had so I didn't have to worry about edges as much.

As others have said, it is spring and there are lots of catch ups for me. Today I serviced the snow thrower and stored it and all the shovels(that means we will now have a big snow), early start on yard work, get mower and sprinkler system ready etc.....I have a couple of projects started but no time to finish them now.

I always like thinking outside the typical patterns when I can. I still haven't been able to make myself sit down and learn the pattern making programs-a short attention span does not help that endeavor. That being said I often look at a pattern I like and then butcher it in my own way. I posted an example -I took a Steve Good vase pattern and turned it into a blue tooth speaker vase. I think I understand what Frank is saying and I agree with him. As an aside one thing I learned while venturing into all of this is to CAREFULLY look over any pattern before trying to cut it. It seems there are people producing patterns who never try to cut them after they create them. If they did they would have seen that some things are impossible to cut due to size, position etc. And kudos to Frank's work with the color-like your parrot cuts-the color really makes them pop.
