I saw Denny's Feb 26th post - Dozen Packs @ 1/2 gross price, checked my supply and decided one can never have enough blades. Called Denny, placed an order March the 2nd for a dozen packs and they arrived today March 5th. The combination of good blades, well packaged, prompt service and delivery makes for a 5 star rating in my book.

Yes, and I want to find a place out of the elements where the person(s) won't be bothered by bugs or the weather. I have a different geocaching puzzle at a library where geocachers can sit down and solve it to get the coordinates and then go outside to find the container. That works well, so I want to find a similar place for this one. If you have the time and interest, you could always attend a geocaching event and connect with someone there and cache with them. It's been a great way for us to get some fresh air and our steps in (Lord knows I need to, my wife is a terrific cook and the only thing I can't say no to is the temptation to eat more than I should).

OK, it's not a cat, but it could encrypt a message with the word cat in it . . . along with "be sure to drink your Ovaltine". My wife and I do Geocaching, an activity that can include solving a puzzle in order to get information (GPS coordinates) that will lead you to a hidden container with a logbook where you sign your name. I know, sounds dumb, but we have enjoyed it going on 14 years now and have had a lot of wonderful experiences, met lot of nice people, and seen a lot of sights in the USA and overseas. Anyway, I took this Steve Good pattern and beefed it up a bit - made it 150% of original size - now roughly 15 inches by 7 inches and used 1/2 inch wood with 1/4 inch for the dials. I tried the 1/8 inch but it just wasn't holding up to the handling. I probably violated some scroll saw etiquette by using wood screws to hold the case together but wanted it to endure the handling it will likely get over time. It was fun to make, but I did learn a little more about the things you have to take into consideration when you enlarge a pattern - like hole size enlarges too (sheeze, head slap!)

This Steve Good pattern grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it. And it was surprisingly easy to cut (I really shouldn't have said that out loud - Murphy never sleeps around my house). Now to find a place for it.

Learned more about interior cuts with this Steve Good pattern on 1/2 inch pine. Oh, and discovered that while the blade will cut upside down, it will bring the cut paper pattern up ahead of the cutting line, laying on it and blocking your view of the line you are trying to cut. At first I was wondering "what the heck" and then the light bulb clicked on. Another lesson in what not to do (eye roll). Still have to touch up a couple spots and decide on a backing, but overall pleased with it.

How original! Who could resist getting one of these?!

I recently made a 3-legged stand using a 4x4 and 2x4s. It turned out solid and I installed retractable casters which makes it easy to move around. Got the casters from Amazon for about approx. $35 for a set of four. Found the plans online. Good luck.

You are not alone. Reminds me of me working on the computer when it acts up - try so many things without writing them down and next thing I know, the problem disappears. The good news is: Ya fixed it! YEA!!!

With a title like that, how could you resist looking?! I'm buried in Steve Good patterns and cutting my way out. Anyway, we have a friend who loves hummingbirds, so I made this for her. 3/4 inch pine (called for 1/2 inch but I didn't have any on hand) using #5ST Pegas blades. Now to ponder a backing color. And thanks to all of you in the Village for being here and sharing your knowledge. It has helped me greatly.

Hi Frank, I probably should have posted that part of the entry in another message - maybe Q&A. I did adjust the set screws this morning and last evening ordered a new tension knob and clamps. Fingers crossed for a normal delivery time for parts.
