    Barb, those are just too cute, They remind me of Gumby. Sure would be cute green. Maybe green stain or die? I am not sure how you made them but they are a wonderful project. Do you have to mount them on something heavy to keep them from falling over, like a flat rock or a small square of granite?

    Marg, thank you so much....my biggest problem is I am too much of a perfectionist so I am constantly redoing things which of course takes a lot longer...but I do really like this type of wood art. thanks again!

    Yes, I totally have given up on those spiral blades....Not for me. I use the 2/0 most of the time for my stuff and it works so much better. Plus those spiral blades have a mind of their own...at least for me...reminds me of sewing velvet on the sewing machine....kind of takes off where you don't want to go...I just hate when I sew a sleeve shut!

    Danny, Thank you for your kind words....Regarding Dave's creative way of doing things, I used the inlay tutorial that Dave posted in the resource section (I think he has made some changes to this technique).: And below is a link to how he did the "embossing" of wood designs (lift a tree out of the wood) Be sure to read the entire thread. I needed to practice a few times before I got it....

    Charlie, thanks so very much! I appreciate your support and you really motivate me to do better. I am still very slow...I think I have done two pictures to your 15 or more! Someday I may get quicker. Now, as you well know, life keeps getting in the way of our scrolling.... Alas, I promised my husband that I would make mirrored medicine cabinets for our bathroom so I will have to take a pause on my scroll sawing for a bit. Maybe I will try to do a little scrolling in the evening.

    Frank, thank you! I really think your work is amazing so thank your for the compliment....Wow, I had never thought of putting any of that information on the back but your make a very good point...Looks like I had better buy a wood burning tool so I can scribe that info on the back. Do you have any recommendations?

    Not sure what you call what I am doing since I am making this up as I go along. My apologies for the glare... Again, I used @Dave Monk technique for raising the vines out of the wood. I used 3/4 inch Walnut, Purple heart, Red heart (which turned kind of orange-ish) and Yellow heart which I inlayed into the walnut before scrollsawing and then carving. It has multiple layers of epoxy for depth while I was painting. I chose the grapes because my son-in-law loves a good wine and my daughter, Molly, loves flowers I hope you can guess where they were married Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

    Yes, that is true. My dad was also a machinist and ran his own business until he was 83. At that time he was getting dementia and wore gloves while working on his lathe which he never did... Well, he lost his thumb and that ended his business....so, I too do not wear gloves... but I have lost a finger nail from my sanding belt...better to loose a nail than a thumb! Thanks for the reminder

    This doesn't have much scroll saw work and so I did post this in 'Other Works" but I did the top window, door and doorway of this and also the "balcony" using my scroll saw but that is about it...but it is definitely outdoors

    Wow, that is just great, especially that you figured out your own pattern....That is way beyond me! I would have trouble putting it together, much less trying to figure out how to create it and then cut it....very impressive!
