Scrappile Posted March 7, 2024 Report Posted March 7, 2024 (edited) I want to ask and if totally inappropriate @Travis can surly delete.. And I do not want to start a new active group or anything but, would like to know how many VN veterans are on here. Nothing more than just curious...just a yes or no is all I care about. Sycamore67 Posted March 7, 2024 Report Posted March 7, 2024 No, I had a high draft number. I remember the day they drew the numbers and how people responded. I remember my friends who went and lost their lives. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

kmmcrafts Posted March 7, 2024 Report Posted March 7, 2024 Brother was drafted into the Army. I was born in 68 so I guess I was too young. Father was drafted into Navy WWII but war ended so he was only in for I think it was like 4-5 months. Not sure how long my brother was in.. OCtoolguy and Me and my buddy 2 Quote

Thankfully I'm not in that group. Prayed every day that the reserves weren't called up. Quote

I know it helps to connect. I had a better time than a lot of brothers. I was protected because of my MOS. But I also had experiences not so good. Lost brothers. The older I get the more I think about it all. RJ feel free to message me if it helps you to connect and anyone else. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

Ditto on getting a low draft number and joining the Air Force. My father served in the Navy - oldest brother in the Marine Corps - other older brother is an Army VN vet. So I felt I just had to go Air Force. No regrets. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
