Brother was drafted into the Army. I was born in 68 so I guess I was too young. Father was drafted into Navy WWII but war ended so he was only in for I think it was like 4-5 months. Not sure how long my brother was in..

Thankfully I'm not in that group. Prayed every day that the reserves weren't called up.

Do you go anywhere on the internet to talk about it?  I know it helps to connect.  I had a better time than a lot of brothers. I was protected because of my MOS. But I also had experiences not so good. Lost brothers.  The older I get the more I think about it all.  RJ feel free to message me if it helps you to connect and anyone else.

Ditto on getting a low draft number and joining the Air Force. 
My father served in the Navy - oldest brother in the Marine Corps - other older brother is an Army VN vet.
So I felt I just had to go Air Force. 
No regrets.

My husband was a Marine. Just before he had to go, they started the withdrawal. He spent 6 months on ship in the Mediterranean. (He gets seasick).

I turned 18 in 1971. Went in for my physical. I have always had a skin condition and that day I was so nervious that I broke out in hives. They didn’t want me.
