I stack cut 5 1/8" BB for the ornaments.  I plan on giving them as gifts to family.  Have to decide whether to just oil them or paint them.  Wife says I should paint them white so that they will stand out better on the tree.  I don't know.12 days of Christmas.pdf

The light colored wood should stand out just fine. If you paint them white, they will look like plastic.

I would leave them natural.  I have many light/natural ornaments on my tree.  They show up just fine.  Painting them is very time consuming, unless you are spraying.

Nice, very well done.   An oil finish will dry out over time and collect dust especially during storage eleven months of the year.  If you prefer a natural color finish, a clear lacquer or clear polycrylic spray finish would be better.

Taking all of your advice. I am applying a light pecan stain and will finish off with a clear gloss. Will post picture when done.
