  1. Me too.
  2. Yes, I'm glad you mentioned that. I bought a wallpaper seam roller to smooth things out and get the glue to spread evenly.
  3. Yes I did glue the pictures to the wood then sprayed 2 or 3 coats of the Glaze then cut the puzzles. I always let the glue set for 24 hours. Also lest the Glaze dry 24 hours before cutting.
  4. If you want a deep looking clear finish that is quite durable try Rustoleum Triple Thick Glaze. I've used it on jigsaw puzzles and was happy with the look. For the adhesive, I used Aleen's clear spray glue. It worked for me on the puzzles. Some other puzzle makers used Aleen's bottle glue and spread it on. Ether way seems to work.
  5. I'm not a fan of Elmer's. I bought two small cans and will probably end up giving them away. 3M 77 is my go to. For small projects I use glue sticks. I think the glue sticks are Elmer's.
  6. Well, when folks don't post their name I look at their profile. Then I learn a little more about then. To me it's not a big deal if they don't post their name, but that's what makes everyone unique.

Nice clock Becky. I'm sure you have lots of hours in it. I always set aside some small simple projects so if I start feeling burned out I can do something different. I forgot to ask, were you a member here before your hiatus?

    Welcome back Becky!
  9. Welcome to The Village!
  10. Metric makes more sense but I don't see the US changing. I learned the metric system in 7th grade because there was a push to adopt that system. Now, 40 some years later... no change.
  11. When I started scrolling I was a bottom feeder. As my eyesight started getting worse I found top feeding was much more efficient for me. I guess a lot depends on the saw but if you hope that a saw will last you a lifetime then consider having options as life brings unexpected changes.
  12. Good job. There are many methods to get the same result. With most you can eliminate the need for accessing the internet and with many others you can eliminate post-processing with very good results. But find what works fir you.
  13. Very nice. All the other comments sum it up.
  14. Nice change. You could take that a lot of directions and have lots of variations, too.
  15. Nice job. I think I like the colors. Yes, I like the colors.
  16. Nice project. Very creative.
  17. Great job, as always! I love seeing your work.
  18. Welcome to The Village from Cincinnati, Ohio!
  19. I'll keep you in my prayers.
  20. First off... Welcome to the Village Charlie! I never caught any of your previous posts. Next, great job on the signs. All of them look good.
  21. Welcome to The Village! There's a lot of talent here and with your bandsaw boxes, you'll fit right in.
  22. Do some internet searches and you'll find some products that use tree sap in the finish. There are also some recipes for making a wood finish using tree sap but it seems like an awful lot to go through. It sounds like it could be fun to try but not at this time for me.
  23. You may have answered your own question. If you are happy with the foam sponges keep using them. No harm in trying other methods. Even the professionals will disagree at times.
  24. Well Jes, people have come up with various ways to describe the amount of pressure they use for different tasks. The truth is, even if there were measurements, not everyone would agree that it is correct. I may push hard on the blade and someone may be using the same pressure and say they are hardly pushing on the blade. It all comes down to what you feel comfortable with. And, that may change as you get more familiar with the way you like to cut. The same goes for sanding and probably everything else. Don't get hung up on it or you'll go crazy. Just cut and enjoy. And, like the late Carter Johnson always said, "just have phun".
  25. Welcome to The Village Lew!
