  1. That's what I bought last time. I like it. If they are out at your store you can order online for store pick up.
  2. Welcome to The Village Bill! You sure have a lot of interests and they can all revolve around the scroll saw. I'm not into music but I always though it would be neat to build a dulcimer. Good luck.
  3. Nice work Kevin. But now we know... It's the gummy bears that keep you going.
  4. Great job!
  5. Fantastic! I love the Old English font and you did well to add the heart. My hat off to you, sir.

    Paddler

Sweet Wayne. Too bad there isn't a way to add some loon call. In Alaska I use to love going to the lake at sunset and listen to the loons. Very calming.
  7. I was in a pinch for some 1/8" dowels. I really wanted them made from padauk. I just tossed some thin scraps in the burn barrel. I pulled a piece out, ran it through the band saw to get a 3/16" x3/16" x 6" piece. Took that to the sander with 36-grit belt, and in a few seconds had a fairly round 1/8c dowel. I hand sanded to 180-grit and checked it with me guage. For thin dowels that are very close to round this was very fast and easy.
  8. Good looking squirrel Kevin. And when your neighbor asks about their lounge chairs, your secret is safe with me. Wink wink.
  9. I like! Thanks for sharing.
  10. Nice work! I cut that one years ago. I need to order the set and do more.
  11. Welcome to The Village! Great projects.
  12. I've heard it called layered.
  13. Or your fingers. Ouch!
  14. If you choose brads, just make sure they don't protrude from either side.
  15. Like a lot of folks I started off standing. After a while I grabbed a bar stool and found it more comfortable. After a few customer complaints the bartender banned me from scrolling at his bar. OK, seriously I do have a shop stool that is adjustable that I use.
  16. Sitting is easier on my back and shoulders.
  17. Rob, give yourself the credit. That came out perfect! The saw is only as good as the operator.
  18. I use painter tape. Hot glue work.
  19. First, congrats on you delivery. It's always good to have lots of material. You seem to be moving right along with your projects. Second, no matter what you do enjoy it. If your not enjoying it then move on to the next. That's probably why I do so many different projects. I feel that if I do the same thing day after day I'm not gaining anything. Something new is always refreshing.
  20. Thanks for that info Paul. I was wondering about the liner and how it would stick and whether it would leave residue. I have done any fretwork or portraits using the liner yet. I'm also curious what happens if you leave it on for several months.
  21. That is cool! Nice job on the cutting. That's another one to add to my list.

    Padauk

Had some padauk "scraps" hanging around and haven't made a birdhouse in a week or more. I even made the perch from padauk. The bird is box elder. My wife stole it. I don't know what's more addicting, me making these or my wife keeping them.
  23. Nice project Pete. I always like nautical themes.
  24. I was thinking the same thing when I saw Steve Goods piece.
  25. You covered the basics. Most blades won't break unless abused. I've broken my share. Another thing is that when blades get worn they build up heat which will make them weaker and more prone to breaking. There are lots of other things but I'll let others chip in.
