    If you're not in a hurry, spend some time looking at used saws. Many folks have found great deals on high-end, used saws. Just do some research before jumping in.

    After using it for a while you will find no need to change the speed while sawing. If you change material or thickness and you find you want to change the speed, it only takes about 5 seconds to change. I leave the cover off the belt and pulleys. I had a saw with electronic variable speed control years ago and the controller went out. That's one reason I settled on the pulley system of the P20.

    The blade sits between the two pads in front of the screw. It can be a pain figuring out the right position for the blade but once you get it, it should be much easier. I clamp the blade in the top clamp first then feed it through the work and clamp the bottom by feel. Adjusting the tension on the clamps only takes a small bit of adjusting. When I change blade sizes, say from a #3 to a #5, it only takes about 1/16th of a turn or less. I'll see if I can get some useable pics later today. And yes, parts are hard to come by.

    Although I prefer 3M77 I've used Elmer's also, and I like how it comes out in a fine mist. Seems to get more even coverage. Also, I think Scotch is owned by 3M, so it's weird that they would make a Scotch 77. Must be something in the formula.

    Wow, $21.58 seems like a lot! If you only plan to do it once but wanted to keep a copy, an alternative is to pay around $5 for a back issue of the magazine. I mostly scan the pattern one page at a time as a pdf the put them together using Adobe Acrobat.

    I got the pattern for these as a free download from a pattern store (maybe Toy Makers). Had the for years and discovered them when clean shop. Anyways,easy to make. I let my 3year old grandson help put the wheels on. He the got to tell his mom he made them. Oh, these were make from the many scrap left over from the garage wall.

    Straight blade. (I hope I can say that without being offensive.) The piece was short enough to cut more than half way the turned it around and cut from other end.

    We are expecting some snow later this week so I guess this is good timing. The sign is 12" x 36". The background is pallet boards, everything else is scrolled. I think it came out ok. It was more work than expected but fun to make. If I do another one I may just paint it.
