  1. it looks great so far! thanks for posting it up as a work in progress. it gives me some ideas about doing a large piece.....hmmmmmm can i ask why the hammer is always in the middle of the table in the pictures? just curious
  2. Thanks for all of the responses! I've sold Elvis and two of the lighthouses for $30 each. Considering I stack cut them 4 at a time and they took me about 45 mins to complete (pattern to in the frame) I'd say that's pretty good. Framed in dollar store frames.
  3. One of these days..... I too have a craftsman. It's a bit worn out, vibrates like crazy and makes a racket. Lots of worn out parts. Maybe soon I'll sell enough stuff to get a new one Congrats on getting yours!
  4. Looks really good so far. Also looks like alot of fine details. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  5. I talked to my local cabinet shop and now I go once a week to get all the trash hardwoods. Seems like every week it's a big score! Maple, red oak poplar all kinds of hard woods. It's all small stuff though nothing real big. But it's free! I've made some stuff out of the reclaimed wood as gifts for them.
  6. Make sure you open it up as large as possible. If you save a small picture the quality won't be good.
  7. Looks so much better than when you got them from the dollar store. Great work
  8. Nope sorry no suggestions, I'd never seen a box done like that. Looks like a great idea that's why all the questions. I was thinking what might be interesting would be a self leveling clear epoxy. Basically fill in the inlay flush with the wood. Not sure how it would work out but I was thinking it would protect the knitting and you'd never have to worry about it coming out (the tape coming unstuck)
  9. Did you put any finish on top of the inlay?
  10. Looks great. I love functional projects. What is the inlay? Do you have a closer pic of it. I'd like to see the detail
  11. I agree 100%! I really like the bowls. I'll go check out the book. I was also confused when I read about (kinda still am, I'll get the book)
  12. Looks great!
  13. Very nice!
  14. I bought the ridgid planer and I love it. Very good tool. I'm impressed with ridgid tools. And the price is right too. I want to get the sander too
  15. Could you all post up what you would sell these items for. A guy asked me for the Elvis portrait. My wife says 10$ I think that's way too cheap! I was thinking more like 30 to 40$. Framed Portraits are all 8.5" x 11" all will be framed. Trivets are about 8 inches across The word believe is 8 inches wide 2.75" tall Thanks!
  16. I've been working all last week so no scrollsawing in 7 days, so today I started early! A big thanks to all those that make and post patterns. Some of these came from this site.
