  1. Reading thru I got to thinking. Make sure if you plane plastic that you have good sharp blades and yes MrsN is correct in keeping the plastic cleaned out of the cutting head. The plainer we use for plastic is a little 12" plainer that has never seen wood. It works great but you have to make sure the conditions are correct. NEVER cut plastic with a dull tool. As long as you are carful and pay attention you shouldn't have any problems.
  2. Very cute. I like it, great cutting and a great pattern.
  3. It would have to be EXTREAMLY fine grit or it will cloud the lexan
  4. Make sure you have good liability insurance and be insistent on PPE. In other words cover your butt if something happens. It’s sad but in todays sue happy world it is something you have to do.
  5. We use ours for delrin (a white or black plastic) all the time. I don't recall ever using it for Lexan but I don't see any reason that it won’t work. Lexan is a very good machining plastic and cuts very cleanly so I would say give it a whirl with light cuts and see what happens.
  6. Magnificent!!!!!!! Simply magnificent job on a spectacular pattern.
  7. Good to see you back Ron!!!! Excellent work on this one as usual. Look forward to seeing more of your work as well as your garden.
  8. If the mistake is where I think it is I would make one more little cut to balance out the two angels and tell everyone it is supposed to be that way. It looks GREAT Kevin. You are truly your own worst critic.
  9. Now I see why you’re so popular with all the girls. Great work Kevin, keep on scrolling.
  10. Welcome Denis. It looks like you have two top notch nice machines. I can’t wait to see all the work you crank out with them.
  11. Yep, he is a poet and we didn’t know it till we looked at his feet and they were Longfellows. First of all Thank You for your service. Second, welcome to the village. Now that you joined take a look at all the patterns that these very talented people have made. I am sure you will find more than a couple that you will want to cut. This forum is filled with amazing people and a few jokesters like myself. Most important is join in and have fun with your scrolling and post some pictures of your work, machine and shop. We will love to see the pictures.
  12. I don’t just like it I love it!!!! Great choice of woods and a great project. You did a bang up job on this plain Roly.
  13. It brought a tear to my eye. I had two yellow labs till my ex gave them away to spite me. Loved them deeply and still miss them. I am glad chisel found a good home.
  14. Yes the Vikings.
  15. I am one step ahead of you. I cut the two smaller logs I picked up in Indiana last Tuesday. I have to take a chainsaw and split the other two so they will fit thru the band saw. Have fun with yours. I wish I could have taken the 30" dia 20' long log to a saw mill.
  16. I hadn’t seen that pattern but I love it. You did an outstanding job of cutting it. That is a top notch project.
  17. Perk, you do amazing work. I love the way you added a little color to the area the skin was exposed. I try to leave the color of the wood and let the grain pattern do the talking but in this case it made the portrait really stand out. Very well done sir and thank you for sharing.
  18. Roly, you’re supposed to wash them before you hang them up. Great cut on a very cute pattern Robbert. I might have to make a his and hers out of that pattern. Pink for my wife and dingy grey for me. If she doesn't bleach them that would be the color of my socks. Lol
  19. Gator said a mouth full. She will treasure that for the rest of her life and will probably pass it on to her kids with the story. It is not always about making the most difficult projects but about making something special. You got that one nailed here Dick.
  20. Thanks Keith I will keep an eye open for it. I have never seen a cap on a can like that. It looks like the nozzle flips up to spray. Out here in the Wild West we still have to apply with a brush maid from our horse’s hair.
  21. That is one fine job of cutting! I hope they cherish it forever.
  22. I think they both look great. I prefer the red backer but that is my personal opinion. The black backer works just as good. Great cutting of a great pattern. I need to find that finish here in the states.
  23. You constantly amaze me with your work. This one is simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
  24. I don't usually paint projects but in this case I think I would do as Kevin did and glue it together and give it a few coats of gold paint. It is just too beautiful to throw away.
  25. That would explain why it is working good for me.
