  2. Hello Rob welcome to the village although cutting coins sounds interesting I'm more into cutting cost then coins but to each his own. Just kidding of course, I've seen some beautiful pieces cut out of coins and I'm sure once you line up your blade sources etc you'll do great work. Don't forget to keep us posted and to post some pictures as well, good luck and again welcome. .../Hans

  6. Thanks Dick the pattern is from finescrollsaw.com Dick they have some nice stuff this one is actually easier then the Eiffel tower as there is a lot less cutting, when you study it you'll see there is a lot of stack cutting ,there are 5 stacks of 4 and 4 stacks of 2 and that's it so not to bad but a fun project.
  7. I was looking at that yesterday Doug, I've already read all those books besides they can go in a box and really don't need to be displayed. Yup today's project clean out the book shelf and turn it in to a display unit.

  10. this project was a small one for me I have maybe 2 days in it all together when you look at it there is a lot of stack cutting involved. 5 stacks of 4 and 4 stacks of 2 that's all.
  11. Sorry Larry I didn't count the cuts on this one but its 44 inches long and doesn't have a drop of glue in the whole project everything is precisely interlocked so I can take it apart to ship.
  12. Thanks Matt I'm not really sure where I'm going to put myself I'm much like those hoarders on TV except I only hoard scroll saw pieces I've made but my house is filling up fast

  21. I stay busy without the sales Kevin, sometimes it would be nice to recoup some of my expenses but here in Mexico its not worth the headaches of someone not happy cause it should be bigger/smaller/thicker/thinner or darker, this way I make them pleasing to my eye no hassle.
  22. Nope I didn't, well I did the left side and the rightside were stack cut and the top and bottom 4 corners were etc but not for retail purpose, I rarely sell anything here I either keep things or give them as gifts, if I was to sell a piece like this here I would if I was really lucky get a 1000 pesos thats 80 dollars for 4 days work not worth it.
  23. Ha Ha Kevin it was 95% spiral #1 flying dutchman blade Yes I would do it over again with some better wood this is just cheap plywood 3 mm and 5 mm full of voids.
  24. Thank you yes it was a lot of work but very worth it.
