  1. Very nicely done Roly, I think you can get whatever someone is willing to pay, there are many factors at play. Location is one where I live I would be very lucky to get 100 pesos thats 8 bucks then it depends if I'm selling where there are a lot of expats I'll get 200 pesos thats 16 bucks then species of wood is important and the finish of course. yup its whatever the market will bare.
  2. Nice going Brian looks well cut nicely finished thanks for sharing with us
  3. thank you all for your encouraging words about spirals truth is when they first came out I thought they were the cats a....meow I wouldn't look at a straight blade then as I grew into the art of really fine scrolling I quit spirals as I found them messy and not very precise so I kind of lost my way but now I have found it back and will openly admit to the whole world that I love spirals. NOOOOOOOOT
  4. Totally cut with spiral blades, I'm so proud of my self, I hate spiral blades but I'm getting better, by the time I master them my eyes will give out. Pattern by Sam Marquez
  5. Ron send me some oak and I'll send you some Bamboo fair deal?

  7. Thanks Everyone I took Kevins advise and painted them a hammered copper finish and the look fabulous!
  8. Very nice Luis I love the fact that pine is often over looked as it has a bad reputation Thinking of pine box. But you put it to a great use and it will last for another lifetime.
  9. Pattern by a very talented pattern maker Sam Marquez Be for warned every one of his patterns are miniatures it seems. This one is made out of 1/8" material and all press fit no glue in here overall length is 7" and the wheels are 1 1/2" diameter
  10. Looks great nice work very inventive to recycle wood into something so useful and beautiful thanks for sharing those with us.
  11. Jean-Marc Both saws you have selected are of great quality no doubt, personally I cant speak of experience with either but following the great reviews from other members in the village. I have a 788 myself and know its quite capable of cutting those crosses you want to cut. As a matter of fact I'm quite confidant that it will cut anything its a matter of, can you? I often hear oh that's easy for you cause you have a great saw, all the while I was cutting stuff like I am now with an old delta shopmaster I nicknamed shaky. So besides the saw you'll need a ton of patients a good wood selection and I think good blades would be an option. I look forward to seeing this cross done please post a picture for us to see. Thanks and the best of luck it sounds like you have the bug my friend. .../Hans
  12. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with that new saw. .../Hans

  16. Welcome to the village Robin good to see you come back to scroll land I think we'll all land in the same institution to treat our scroll addiction so we may as well be friends and get to know one another before they come to take us away. Wishing you all the best with your lost touch I know it does come back I took a few years off myself and it came back in no time. .../Hans from Mexico
  17. When you look at this leash holder the question of why do all sled dogs want to be the lead dog? Simply because the few is better. Nice job Fay and a great gift for your sister I'm sure she'll love it.
  18. Nice work Dennis what is underlayment? I've only heard this term in carpets or is this the wooden stuff they use to level floors? Nice work though seriously

  24. Great post Larry but I would like to add one more and that is a #9 flat that I use a lot for straight lines, like the outside edges of portraits etc the blade is wide as to not let it wander to much. But a great starter list.
  25. Hi Antonia, welcome to the village Indeed a lovely piece that rose you'll treasure it for a long time, I've scrolled for a long time and still have pieces in my house I did 30 years ago. Hang in there and enjoy what you do but be really careful Scrolling isn't a hobby its an addiction and there is no cure. Have fun with it. My name is Hans and I live in Mexico
