  1. Very well done my friend, I think we'll change your name from Amazing Kevin to Incredible Kevin Keep busy makes you forget all other worries.
  2. I'm personally not convinced that there are no good patterns left out there, on the contrary, I believe a lot of scrollers have been practicing with blinders on and are missing the real world of scrolling. Scrolling is not about making pictures or silhouettes only, its much larger than that. Think about all the antique furniture that had scroll work on them, the oriental jewelery boxes with their scroll work on them, Scrolled lamps Coo-coo Clocks Grandfather clocks, etc etc we just need to venture out and explore the internet more and challenge our self more. The plans are out there and a lot are for free. Go ahead and make the leap into real scrolling you'll never go back.
  3. No Tom I really couldn't tell you where I got them from I've Had them hanging around for awhile I was just looking for something small to do before I go on vacation no pun intended .
  4. I've placed a lighter in the middle of them to show the size First picture is Bob And John
  5. It all starts with computer literacy unlike Kevin I'm not a big believer in Paperwork I store everything on my computer, First of all have you joined any more scrollsaw sites besides this one? Not that this one is bad in my opinion this is one of the best the people are great on this site and there is plenty of free patterns and if you need one made there is always someone willing to create a master piece for you. But personally I'm not much into portraits as such I like free standing 3D projects and have found for those I go to sites in the middle east and eastern Europe Start by befriending or becoming a member of 3d Puzzle world on face book a fellow named Sam is the organizer and ones your in there you'll find all the foreign scrollers Don't let the language deter you there is a lot of Spanish and Egyptian on there but with good prints and Google translate you'll do just fine good luck and message me if your having a problem I'm fairly bilingual.
  6. Great job Fay there is always a use for a nice little shelf even if you put some project on the shelf for a bit if you know what I mean.
  7. I always swore by my Delta until I got my DW in January I have a foot switch always did even with the Deltas I do not have a lifter as I think they are a waste of my money, I do not see the difference in weather I move a lever or remove a piece of wood perhaps a split second but I'm not running a production line so its ok. So far the DW has run 6-8 hours a day 5-6 days a week and hasn't given me any problems. I do strongly recommend the foot switch and tape of your other switch on top of the saw so dust can't enter or you'll end with a headache. Good luck with it look forward to seeing some results and hearing your feed back once you open the big yellow box.
  8. nice job Dan I love the frame
  9. Nice job looks very reptilian but then again it is supposed to Great work
  10. Great job Kevin I love all the lettering
  11. Cute project and besides Kevin I'm sure a 3 year old would enjoy it also. Nice work.
  12. It's not as fragile as it looks Kevin its all made from 3mm plywood and all the pieces interlock there is no glue in this project this calls for very precise cutting no room for a sloppy interlock as that would jeopardize the strength of the whole piece.
  13. I have found the most beautiful stuff on sites from the middle east like Pakistan, Iraq, India And the Ukraine just browse around a bit you'll find them but be careful of copy right laws in the US as some of these patterns are Pirated from US designers as they don't respect copy right laws like we do.
  14. Gracias amigo.

  18. Kevin don't fret at what talent you may have lost but rather an opportunity to shed bad habits and get a fresh start Your letters are fantastic just keep it up, you hardly got the floor dusty.
  19. Thanks for all the effort catching breaky but I'm feeling a tad under the weather a bit crook so to speak but I'm sure I'll be back on my feet soon hope left overs will keep that long. .../Hans
  20. I have a compressor with an airhose but it only does so much I guess the best thing is not to hang onto pieces to long or put them away in a box or plastic bag
