  2. This is another record for high temps. When you come visit your daughter you will have to look us up. not that far away. would love to meet you and yours. Dick heppnerguy
  3. I have yet to experience the monsoons but I hope I am ready when they get here. Where are you located? The map looks like Europe for you. Dick heppnerguy
  4. The really hot part only lasts for about 3 months and then the winter temps are like summer in an lot of places. No snowmen building going on here in the winter. Dick heppnerguy
  5. Our house is staying cool enough. I hear the costs of electricity is high here. Not too excited about getting the first bill from that. We have 2 garages, one is a single car garage and the other is a double garage. I am using the double garage for my shop as we only have one car now. The double car garage has it's own heat pump for the air conditioning will be most welcome. I also bought a large fan for my shop that keeps the air circulating well. so far so good. it is 109 right now, outside Dick heppnerguy
  6. I think all my mail will be delayed for awhile because of the needed forwarding, what with the new move. I will be looking forward to my copy though Dick heppnerguy
  7. wow almost a 100 % agreement. that does not happen very often.. I guess there is no doubt as to which wood you will be using for this project. I too am anxious to see the finished piece. Good luck with it Dick heppnerguy
  8. funny, I heard this one will be the last one in our average life span, of which mine is not really too much longer either. I will have to check into this as it seems contrary to all I have heard. I sure hope you are correct on this. Dick heppnerguy
  9. Well we are getting all moved into our new home in Arizona. It has been a little on the warn side but hey, it is Arizona you know. We got our new front room furniture today and our television and internet, as well as a phone put in today. My wife and son got all the walls decorated today and it is starting to feel like home. We really like the area we are in as there is about everything in the way of stores you can think of, unlike Heppner and surrounding area, unless you are willing to drive 90 miles to shop. I am starting on my shop now and the progress is a little slow but it will get done soon. I missed my wonderful family here in The Village and this is the first and only place I have gone to since I got my computer hooked up. We went to dinner and the temp at 4:30 was 111 degrees. The heat takes a lot out of one quickly here. We will be heading back to Oregon for a couple of weeks to take in the eclipse. This will be only the second total solar eclipse that I have ever witnessed and I do not want to miss it. Hope to be able to find some time to check out how everyone is getting along and see what you are all up to. I hope by the middle of next week I will get to have more time on line. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I will not be on The Village for probably about 2 weeks or so. We will be making our move from Oregon to Arizona and setting up our new home. It will take until Saturday for us to get there and unloaded and then the arranging and putting things in order starts. After we are settled in and have internet working,I will log on. I will miss my daily log in here and all of my world wide family. It will be another dry run for me like when the sight was being changed over and no one could get logged in here, but this time it will only be me that will be away. I will think about all of you often. Dick heppnerguy
  11. I particularly like it when I come across something a little out of the norm, like these crosses. Imagination is what makes new things so outstanding. Dick heppnerguy
  12. Keep us posted on how they do. They certainly look like something that would sell, to me Dick heppnerguy
  13. Very nice pattern and cutting job. I can not imagine it could be any nicer. What a perfect birthday piece Dick heppnerguy
  14. recognition from others is always good for ones self. Nice to get such a wonderful pat on the back. Way to go Dick heppnerguy
  15. Like Wayne said, this is a Steve Good pattern. Go back to his sight and reload it, that should solve your problem Dick heppnerguy
  16. Welcome to The Village. If you log on often and participate by responding to other's posts, you will get to know the regulars really quickly and find out that you too are an important part of this big happy family. Dick heppnerguy
  17. I have never heard of usig an glue as a finishing product. Might be fun to experiment with in the future Dick heppnerguy
  18. What interesting input here. I love the many ideas that can come up with an answer to a single question. I is like a Free education Dick heppnerguy
  19. Well the answer to the math needed was given above, but for a red neck like me, I would print out the pattern as Steve Good designed it ' since only the insert hole is to be changed. then simply lay the insert in place and outline it with a sharp pencil. on the pattern and cut it on the inside of the pencil drawn on the pattern. then the clock is the same and the clock insert is the only thing changed. Dick heppnerguy
  20. another thought is cedar 2 X 2's. They can easily be found in the fence area of the big box stores. Cedar is easy to cut and cedar also weathers well outside. Dick heppnerguy
  21. John, Nicely done subject. this could work well on any wall and really decorate a little girls room as well Dick heppnerguy
  22. Great creativity. You have a wonderful imagination.. love this Dick heppnerguy
  23. Rob. wonderful little piece. I also love those little fret boxes Dick heppnerguy
  24. looking at him, makes you wish you could reach out and pet the little fellow Dick heppnerguy
  25. Nice cutting. It is a great example of a wooden portrait. Native Americans are so colorful. Every time I look at one of these old Indian portraits, I feel sad that their culture was stripped from them Dick heppnerguy
